The big difference here is that if we get a good scan of a nice print, it will give us ready access to a higher res pure non-SE Star Wars source than we've ever had before to work with. :)

The goal, of course, is to be able to put together, after preservation/restoration techniques have been applied, a dual-layer DVD of Star Wars that will easily surpass the 2006 DVD set (GOUT) in terms of resolution and general clarity and picture quality. And if we have a full DVD resolution or even HD resolution scan of a print, that will allow the preservation/restoration specialists on this forum to do just that. :)
