Because a capture at or above DVD resolution would mean that a superb dual-layer DVD could be made from that. This could be better than even the official Sept. 2006 DVD set, because it would be anamorphic and from an overall higher res source (above laserdisk res). In fact, even just having the print captured in anamorphic form would make it better than the GOUT, because that alone would provide higher res than a non-anamorphic source. Plus it would fit on widescreen t.v.'s without any need for zooming or stretching, which harm visual quality. :)
