The media could well be the problem but its more likely to be your DVD_RW.
Some Dynex have been known to use the same dye as Verbatim but recently there have been a lot of fakes around and ones manufactured outside of Singapore are known for being pretty crap and having compatibility problems. But you do mention that it plays up til the layer break on your panasonic but not at all in the pioneer. The pioneer should play DL-DVD+R s without problem. Check to see if it says the country of manufacture. If its singapore then you can most likely rule out the discs
One thing is that i did find a forum thread that points to the TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS- L 532M as being the problem. It seems that its a pretty bad drive with no support even though its supposed to be a Toshiba/ Samsung collaboration drive

If you can you try burning one of the discs using a different burner and test it that way you'll know if its the drive or the media. My money is on your drive though
