What's with the obsession with Gunga Din? Certainly, it's a great movie, but why have this movie compliment that one? I think it already does to some extent, but it just seems unnecessary.
If you've done some research about it, it was one of the films which heavily influenced and inspired Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Don't believe me? Buy or borrow The Complete Making of Indiana Jones book. I bought the Oversize/Coffee Table book and it's a great read. What's with the obsession with Gunga Din? ToD already compliments Gunga Din to some extent. There's even a throwaway line in the dinner scene which harkens the events of Gunga Din.
Could also be my obsession for older films too? Never entirely know.
My suggestion anyway InfoDroid is to watch Gunga Din and then ToD back-to-back. Don't even need to have each other compliment theirselves. Just an excuse to watch Gunga Din.
