It shouldn't be my player, its a Pioneer DV-414 and it is reported at www.videohelp.com to play DVD+R DL.
I could skip past the layer on my other DVD / VCR player, but that one has a real crummy picture, even being progressive scan. The colors end up saturated and the image artifacts like crazy, so I'm not real thrilled.

Which version of the DVD did you get? It wasn't the unpacked folder version by any chance was it?
Also what program are you using to burn it and what media are you using?
