Let me know if you guys have any other specific suggestions about Raiders and I'll take them into consideration. I'll warn you though, I'm no special effects wizard like Adywan...haha...
Max_Rebo, thank you for saying that. It needed to be said. I can never understand why some people act like we're taking scissors to the original negative when I or anyone else does a fan-edit. The original is still available and will continue to be available. What's wrong with loving a movie AND being open to an alternative experience of it? I'm doing this out of love for the film, not dislike.
One thing I've never done (all the years I've been on this forum) is use it to be rude, negative or discouraging to anyone (besides George Lucas, admittedly). For instance, I would never declare someone's work as "poor" or a "complete and utter waste of time" without at least seeing it first. And even if I had seen it and wasn't particularaly impressed by it, I'd more than likely keep my negative comments about it to myself.
All fan-edits should be personal. I'm taking the time to edit this based on my personal tastes. Just like a director makes a film based on his personal tastes and creative choices. Some directors' and producers' tastes are a little more eccentric than we'd like...hence, the emergence of the fan-edit. Instead of just editing it and keeping it for myself, I'm sharing it with the community hoping that there may be some like-minded individuals out there who might agree with some of the changes I've made, or even might just enjoy seeing a different take on a film they like to watch. And if there are parts they don't like about it, they can keep what they like and change what they don't like in their own edit. Isn't that what this is all about?
My point is, if a person claims they're "not interested in the slightest", that's fine. You're absolutely entitled to your opinion. But why bother posting again and again, or at all for that matter? There are plenty of other threads which would hopefully be of more interest to you.
Ben_Danger, for Last Crusade I intend to tone down or eliminate a lot of the slap-stick comedic elements. Marcus saying "the pen is mightier than the sword" and that type of stuff. Any suggestions you guys have for Last Crusade would be interesting to hear as well.
