Burned this to disc last night and watched it. Great job. I loved it. I can't wait to see Empire.

RoccondilRinon, those are absolutely awesome. I love things that fit together perfectly, and those do.

Now just hold onto these for another 10 years to give Ady enough time to finish the saga! ;-)

The suspense is killing me. Every day I anxiously await the post...

It pleases me so much to hear that. That was the main thing I was trying to get at with these covers, and that's why I did them all together (all that's left to do is the blurbs). That's also why I chose Drew Struzan's posters for the covers; he's the only one I know who's done official posters for all 6 films. I decided on a colour and a logo for each film (eg. white and the Alliance symbol for ANH) — everything else is the same.

I got a PM asking where I found the high-res versions of the posters. I got them off a fellow fan-cover-maker, Ric Easton (which is why he gets credit in the little disclaimer text on the disc). A zip file containing all the images I used plus several others (some of which I'm using for a set of covers for InfoDroid and tjdavis1138's REBORN edit) is available from his website here. For the box I'm designing, it looks like I may be using a giant photo collage by Simon Zoltán in a wraparound design.

Hey guys, I've been working on a cover for this for a little while — a set of covers in fact, with matching disc art, for when Ady revisits the rest of the saga — and post a preview below.

Thanks to Johnny Ringo for compositing and rendering the above previews for me.

I have a couple of ideas floating around for a box for this set.

Darn it! Now I wish I had that for the ANHR DVD! I mean, Adywan's cover is good, but this would be an awesome alternative!

What symbols did you use for each film?

No need for wishing, go right ahead, download it and print it out. :D The full-resolution images are linked right there.

As for the symbols, you can see the Alliance emblem (they call it the "Starbird") from Luke's helmet for ANH. I used the Imperial crest for ESB, an Expanded Universe Jedi symbol for ROTJ, the emblem from the Chancellor's Senate podium for TPM, the eight-pointed roundel from Obi-Wan's fighter for AOTC and a symbol found on the Republic's Star Destroyers for ROTS.

@ RoccondilRinon: The cover look simply great. Class work. A question. Is it also covers German?

@ Adywan: Your Fanedit is simply fantastic. I love the film. Unfortunately, I can not download as much data. Could you send me the Fanedit by post?
Thank you in advance.

Very nice set RoccondilRinon. How about an image on the spines to make it a spanning spine set?

Got mine this morning thanks Ady (disk art looks great by the way). Very professionally presented edit that puts the SE to absolute shame. It looks absolutly stunning on my 46inch screen through my PS3.

Mario PM me your details.

Unfortunately i have sent out all the copies to start the PIF chains and a few extras and won't be sending out any more in the near future. The best thing to do is get on the PIF chain once it starts

EDIT: looks like Darth Solo just beat me to it

Question: having never burnt a DL disk to date can i trust nero 8 to set the layer break correctly, or will i need to set it manually

I forgot to say that I was testing the DVD-9 and had my wife (a moderate Star Wars fan) sit down and watch the extended Alderaan Destruction Sequence. She saw bits and pieces of the XVID version, but hasn't seen the whole thing yet.

I asked her "You want to see the coolest thing that's not in the movie?"

She was like "Sure", kind of rolling her eyes.

I think I heard her gasp, and afterwards she said "That was awesome! Why didn't he put that in?!"

"Because it takes away from the pacing--" "So?!" "And Obi-Wan said they cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."

"Who cares what Obi-Wan says?! That was so cool!"

And this from a girl who doesn't mind Jar Jar.

I'm still fine with it being right where it is, just letting you know how cool it is. I expected the shorter version you put online a while back, so I was blown away when I first saw the "final" version too.

Yeah, ive viewed that 3 times upto now. Very Deep Impact (minus the rubbish film of course).
Says it all though, when one (talented) fan can create a home project that wow's viewers, in the same way as a big multi million pound FX studios do in Hollywood.

Damn, i wanted to get you to sign my disk for me. Must have not sent that PM then. Anyone ever ask for your autograph before Ady? DAMN IT!

EDIT: Guess i could print out your cover art and send it to you to sign the inlay for me, with a pre-payed envilope inside, perhaps?

If you're burning the ISO then that's all there is to it and it should retain the layer change. When I used CDBurnerXP there was no option to set the layer change and I just burned the ISO as is. When I checked it out on a DVD player the layer change was in the exact same place it is on the commercial SW discs - after Tarkin's "Terminate her. Immediately" line.

I also have Nero 8 but as I've said before I don't ever plan on burning DL discs with it because of the problems I've had with other versions of Nero making DL coasters.

"In a Star Wars movie, we expect force, Jedi, ships, fighting, cool people doing cool things....not midiclorians, Jar Jar, Grevious and Vader screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" like a bitch. "

I could probably make a German version, or any other language for that matter, but I would have to get you to supply your own translation of all the text involved.

Thanks NL197, but im gonna be ripping the DVD with Decrypter, then thats why i asked the question about nero, because of the relibiltiy issues with it. How can i produce a 1-2-1 duplicate of the original disk even if it means not using nero?

Different people will say different things, Darth Solo. For example, I have burned DLs only with Nero and have never made a coaster. (we're talking at least a dozen burned for far) I am absolutely convinced that a lot of people's problems come from burning too fast. I keep it slow (max 4x, often 2.4x) and everything is peachy keen.

And Ady, I will let you know the second I get my disc. Can't wait! (yet I must)

Both Nero and Imgburn can do a disc to disc copy. There is no need to "rip" anything.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Yeah, ive also been told never to burn a disk at less than its rated speed, but from experience, i always burn at a lower speed than stated out of habbit now.

Give the mail man a kiss every morning. He thinks its weird, but WE know better ;-)

So i may cause issues by using a seperate prog to get it on my hard drive then?

How much interest in a torrent, given the results, of a PAL DVD9?

I would rather kiss the mail woman. ;)

Dont be picky! Mail man needs loving too.

Also, at least respond to the question, got the disk? Say bless the maker!

I have only been able to burn DL's at 4x, so with me it's never an issue of burning too fast.

Same here, but I think either 6x or 8x has been selectable a couple of times I was going to do it. I did 4x anyway.

I'm currently downloading the full NTSC DVD-9, but I'm also wanting to grab the NTSC DVD-5 Purist Edition as well (to complete this revisited collection, nonetheless). Trouble is, I'm finding it hard to track it down. Can anyone direct me to any site that has it up?

Cheers in advance

Holy mackarel, I'm excited! My newsgroup download of Revisted NTSC DVD-9 just finished, and it's done extracting to the ISO file!

This is so awesome to have! Thanks, Ady.
