Was yours the ISO version or the unpacked folders version?

I believe it was the unpacked vesion, because I had to make my own .ISO . The torrent did come with a fix for certain Video_TS files, but it didn't say which ones the fix was for.

Ok heres the answer to the clues i gave a few days ago to find the easter eggs

1. in the place where Americans call trash reside (trailers as in "trailer trash"!) you must turn left when you reach commander Riker of the Enterprise (move down to trailer "number 1" and press "left")to meet the group of judges at the talent show (the panel). Here lies you destiny.

2. when you are in that special place where they fly-by night (special features mainpage with the fly by TIEs), you discover the secret where to where the unwanted are kept (highlight the Deleted scenes). You must resist temptation and right (press right)your wrongs to find the find the one who dons the combined spectrum of light (the man in white = stormtrooper. His helmet will highlight)

Told you they were easy

Download finally complete.

I opened the ISO using an image drive, and while the imgburn program is included, there are no 'fixed' files in the DVD-ROM folder.

They are however in a separate RAR not inside the ISO.

Is it simply a matter of putting the fixed files of the RAR into the ISO's VIDEO_TS folder and nothing more to it, or do I still have to use that QuickPar program?

NL197, if you're planning on burning with Imgburn then you need to put the fixed files in the VIDEO_TS folder. Only if you downloaded the individual files would you need to use the QuickPAR fix.

Fast and simple?

Great!

Thanks.

I looked at a couple of previous pages, and burned the disc with CDBurnerXP thanks to doubleofive's mention of the program.

Anything to look for in terms of glitches on a settop DVD player?

I used Imgburn for my first burn since I had to recreate the ISO from scratch. I've not burned it with CDBurnerXP yet.

The only things that might glitch are the menu transitions in the special features and the pause in the middle of the movie as the laser starts heading back towards the center of the disc.

When testing the disc on the computer, the drive becomes noisy and the disc takes forever to load, even forcing me to eject it and start again.

However, testing things you mentioned like special features menus and the layer change (nicely positioned to match the other DVD releases, good stuff) on a DVD player was flawless.

That's due to a bad burn. You need to burn at the slowest speed your DVD burner will burn DL+R at....also dump shitty 3rd party burner programs like CDBurnerXP. Use Nero or Imgburn for best results.

All of my copies of the DVD-5 and PURIST beg to differ with your opinion on CDBurnerXP, vbangle. He may not have burned it on the slowest speed, but that's not the program's fault. Besides, it works in his DVD player.

I think people burning at too high a speed is a big problem. Some computers just can't take it and thus make a coaster. I never burn at maximum speed, even with my new computer, no matter what program I'm using. Who cares if it takes 5 or 10 minutes longer? Better than throwing out discs. ;)

CDBurnerXP didn't allow me to change the speed, it remained at 4x.

I use Nero for everything except Dual Layer discs, because I've ended up with too many coasters and of course DL's are a lot more expensive than standard DVD+/-Rs. I've only used Imgburn for Dual Layers, except this one time.

For CD burning, I use the lowest speed I can choose with Nero which is 16x, and for standard 4GB DVD burning I use either 4x or 8x. Nothing faster than that.

I used CDBurnerXP based on doubleofive's recommendation a few pages back (I've been reading various areas of this thread in addition to going through it from the beginning) and I think the problem isn't so much the disc, but the drive itself.

My DVD-ROM drive is fairly old, but so far my burner drive reads the disc without any problems. Besides, I'll only have the disc in the computer for the DVD-ROM features, not watching the film or extras.

I am amazed by how much this disc lines up with the actual SW releases, so much so that I half expected a new menu location every time.

What Verbatum's are you using? I'm not aware of any Verbatum DL+R that are 4X....the ones I use are a max of 2.4X....I think you found your problem. Like I said dump the 3rd party burner program, go with what works....

I'm telling you, I just burned a disc last night at 2.4x. It's not the program. Besides, my Verbatims are 4x max also.

I just don't want people to go out and pay for Nero when others work perfectly fine. If you have it, great, if you don't, don't buy it.

Whenever I've burned one of these in imgburn, it was only at 4x with no options to change it.

This is what imgburn tells me about one of my blank Verbatim DVD+r DL's.

They have a lilac-colored label.

What are Mac users out there using to burn the DVD9? I'm (very slowly -- seed, people, seed!) downloading the fixed torrent (the one with the ISO), and looking forward to burning it once it finishes. IMGBurn is Windows-only, so I'm wondering what has worked for everyone else out there on the Mac platform. I usually use SimplyBurns for my burning needs -- has anyone tried that application for this edit?

Also, about the fix -- I know you said that it's only if you're using IMGBurn to burn the .iso that you'd need to apply the fix, Ady, but could it hurt to do apply it just in case? Better safe than sorry, I say.

Thanks, and take care,

That's strange....every burner I have ever bought had a OEM copy of the latest Nero included with it.....in any case Imgburn is free as well, is it not?

No problem Sojourn :)

I've had many versions of Nero, some work fine while others burn nothing but coasters. I prefer not to take the chance with the higher-priced DVD+R DL's.

Imgburn is totally free and is a fantastic program thanks to its many careful options.

For Mac - I use Toast Titanium. It's a fantastic program, though you have to pay for it (although if you really don't want to I'm sure you can figure something out ;-)

I don't know how Toast handles the layer break, though, so I don't know if you need the fix included with the torrent or not (I applied it just in case).

yeah - for Mac, I always just use Disk Utility - not had a problem yet. Disk Utility is part of OS X

Thanks for your feedback! I don't have Toast, mainly because I've never needed a non-free burning program for the media work I've done. Barring other feedback, I guess we'll see how the programs I have work.

Take care,

EDIT: Just saw your post, OBtwosy. Did you use Disk Utility to burn Ady's DVD9, or have you just used it in the past? Have you used it to burn dual-layer disks before?

Hey guys, I've been working on a cover for this for a little while — a set of covers in fact, with matching disc art, for when Ady revisits the rest of the saga — and post a preview below.

Thanks to Johnny Ringo for compositing and rendering the above previews for me.

I have a couple of ideas floating around for a box for this set.
