However, 2 of the 6 Beatles songs on "Yellow Submarine" had previously-released official mono mixes ('Yellow Submarine' on "Revolver," and 'All You Need Is Love' on "Magical Mystery Tour" and a single), and the other 4 DID have mono mixes made that simply weren't released on said album. Dr. Ebbetts managed to get a hold of the remaining mono mixes for his "Yellow Submarine Mono Songtrack" release, so I took those and made my own custom "Yellow Submarine" mono edition (with the second half, the instrumental George Martin music, in stereo).
So I guess my statement was only half-right (I was thinking that "Let it Be" was recorded before "Abbey Road" when I wrote that, not that "Abbey Road" was released first). And if you don't already have them I *highly* recommend picking up Dr. Ebbetts' Beatles CD collection - even if you prefer the stereo mixes (his Blue Box collection is amazing), but *especially* if you enjoy the mono mixes as well.
