I think you misunderstood me.

When I talk of doing the FX the 'wrong way', I'm referring to sticking some CGI in a scene that had none and doing nothing the surrounding frame. To me, that sticks out and is just distracting. Subtle (and not so subtle) changes in context will be perceived, but if done 'right' won't detract from the viewing experience. This is what Ady has accomplished with ANHR and will most likely achieve with ESBR.

i agree with most of what you said..

but it still jumps out me (holograms, ship movements, updated graphic
displays, et al), and i HAVE NOT watched the originals inside out...

anyways, i gave the revisited version to my parents and brother to
watch....and although they enjoyed it, you're right, they didn't notice
the changes, until they went to the trivia track, and checked out what
was done......credit to adywan..

tron is a great example of computer graphics that were way
ahead of their time (anyone done an edit/update of that!)

anyways, back on topic...

back to 'empire strikes back'....i've only seen it a handful of
times also (less than 10), and i have seen the SE on dvd, laserdisc,
and once in the theater...although i enjoyed it more than 'return of
the jedi', and not as much as 'star wars'...it was always a special
movie for me......so i wonder how much the changes will impact
the movie..

-minimizing boba fetts role? (in this movie, and in jedi)
i don't think you can do in one and not the other, won't the
continuity be messed up? as he's kind of critical in this one..

-changing darth vaders human appearance? could be done
subtly

-redoing the emperor (that's a given)

-i'm going to go watch 'building empire' now..haven't seen
it yet....looks very interesting...

i'll probably have to watch the movie once again to get some
more ideas...
