Ok, Does it matter what type of Duel layer disk you use?

Functionally no, but there are better brands out there. Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are supposed to be the best. It also depends on your drive, the particular software you use and what speed you burn the disc at. Lotta trial and error.

Where is THE complete DVD 9 Torrent and what website?

I personally don't do torrents, I've been working on getting the RapidShare version over at fanedit.org.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

I guess that explains why it sounds so much like Mark Hamill after all. :)

Thanks!

Funny how that worked out, huh? ;-)p

I don't think Taiyo Yuden makes a dual layer DVD.....

Yup, they do! VERBATIM. They are Tayio. I ordered a ton of Tayio and Verbatim turned up. used a prog to check the manufacturer and lo and behold. That's why they cost a premium. Using these with IMGBURN, never had a bad burn.

Any update on a torrent for the NTSC version ?

it WILL be up TODAY later this evening...on demonoid, and mininova..
maybe someone could repost it on TPB, as i don't have an account there..

I will be there as soon as its up.

ok, for all those people looking for the NTSC DVD-9 one, its up.
go to mininova or to demonoid....and do a search..

if you are impatient, you can also get :

type status seed leechers completed
----------------------------------------------
NTSC 5 seeding 4 6 14
2CD AVI seeding 2 5 19
1CD AVI seeding 1 6 35

for the non purist versions
type status seed leechers completed
-----------------------------------------------
NTSC 5 seeding 6 8 79
Adywan AVI seeding 3 2 91
1CD AVI seeding 5 2 157

be patient, i'm seeding all these versions,
so it will be slow at first, once more people join
in it will be much quicker.. it took about 5 days for
the NTSC 5 to be seeded.....i expect the DVD9 might
take a week if you have a fast connection, and i will
be leaving my computer on 24/7 (as always)....

enjoy them...and don't forget to pick up the
revisited soundtrack also...(not included in this torrent)..

recap: for the NTSC DVD9 VERSION ONLY

note : for the PAL DVD9 , you're on your own...but
several items do apply..

where can i get the .rar files for the DVD9?
--------------------------------------------------
1) http://www.fanedit.org -> search star wars revisited purist version
you WILL NEED a rapidshare account, or spend the next 3months
downloading 1 file at a time (hint, buy a temporary account)

2) learn how to use newsgroups, and download from a.b.s.w
============================
pros : as fast as your internet connection
con: degree of difficulty - moderate to hard, trying to figure out
newsreader/pars/getting messages etc..

where i can get a PHYSICAL DUAL LAYER DVD sent to me?
======================================
1) ask around, as several members are offering to send PIF
chains in different countries, etc

2) options for covers/labels etc...are up to the people doing this

------------------
pro : solid physical item
doesn't need internet
cons : finding a person, coordinating it
waiting for it to be sent out

where can i find the TORRENT file for the NTSC DVD 9?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1) demonoid
2) mininova

if you have to ask, nevermind......and no i don't have an account
on TPB/btmon/btjunkie etc.....sorry

pros : if you can't figure out how to get this, i really can't help you
cons : very slow for early users, but will pick up speed as the week
goes by..

your mileage may vary on each type...

negative1,

Thanks for the torrent.

It's not really a DVD-9 of the "purist" edition, is it?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Author

I was gonna say...the 9 at fanedit/RapidShare is the full Revisited version. They list an NTSC Purist 5 on RapidShare and the same as a torrent on Demonoid, as well as various AVI versions, but the only PAL they list is a 5 Revisited, no PAL Purist 5 or 9. So your fanedit DVD choices are:

NTSC Revisited 5 - RapidShare, PirateBay, Mininova
NTSC Revisited 9 - Rapidshare
NTSC Purist 5 - Demonoid
PAL Revistied 5 - Rapidshare

along with a few permutations of XVID AVI's.

Is rapidshare down? I am trying to download some stuff from there and the site will not come up, anyone else having this issue?

Only a DVD-5 NTSC was released of the Purist and there won't be a PAL or DVD-9 versions I'm afraid

I thought I read somewhere that it was from the 35mm mono mix? Maybe I'm wrong.

So what is the torrent at Mininova titled "Star Wars Ep IV - Revisited 2008 (Purist Edition) NTSC DVD9"? I think I'm confused.

EDIT: And the one at Demonoid. Negative1, can we get some clarification? Are these actually the non-Purist DVD9 or a version you assembled?

I suspect it's just mislabeled, and is really an NTSC copy of the DVD-9.

But there are no seeders now, so not much is happening.

Quick question regarding getting the DVD9 from a.b.starwars:

- Just got a membership at Giganews.

- Using Newsbin Pro to access the newsgroup.

The question... how many files should I be downloading in total for the NTSC DVD9? This is my first time using a newsgroup, and the subject lines are a bit confusing.

Example:
STAR.WARS.REVISITED.EPIV.NTSC.DVD-9.(010/171) - "star.wars.revisited.DVD-9.NTSC.part008.rar" yEnc (001/211)

Would the above subject line indicate that I need to download 171 files or 211? Could someone just let me know how many "rar," "par2," "nfo" files, etc. I should have once all is said and done?

Edit:
Nevermind... unrared the files, virtually mounted the image, and all seems to be in working order.

So, for clarification ... it is the real, final DVD-9 that's up on Demonoid at present, correct?

ok, sorry, then i'll change the description..

i've been under the impression that this release was the 'purist' verions..
my bad..

i'm changing the name now..

that's what i get for rushing things and putting it up..

i've learned my lesson!

i think i'll go back and watch it now, because i'm
confused what/where the changes are between
the 'purist' and the 'revisisted' versions...

My DVD-9 torrent is churning along. I was worried because of the "PURIST" title, but I saw my DVD covers on there and figured it must be the right one. You guys should hear my computer whine...

Ok, I just managed to burn the DVD9 without the ISO fix using Nero. When I fire it up in my stand-alone player and try to access the two new Deleted scenes - Alderaan and Luke & Biggs - the disc ejects. Do I need the ISO fix anyway? Tried it on the computer using VLC Media Player - same problem. Trying the Isolated Music Track also locks up the player.

Anyone?
