Thanks for the Rapidshare links Boon23... but can I really only download one rar file per hour as a free user?

For something like this, it's worth spending the few $ to become a temporary Premium member. The 48 hour access at 4.50 euro works out to about $7 US, and if you want to take your time the 1 month access at $6.99 euro is about $11 US. We're not talking high finance.

I've been away for a while as devorces can mess up your life style a bit, and throw your confidence in people, but thankfully when I got back THIS project was done (for a second i thought it still may be ongoing or worse still, abandoned).

Ive got the XViD (thanx -1 for the torrent over at the demon - im cocomango over there BTW), and, DAMN, for this old school fan, its a shocker!

During the tears of joy i was bleading, so to speak whilst I was watching, my faith in human kindness was really epitomized when i got to this stage becuase i had NO idea it was coming:

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/2155/darthchronuscreditsmeyv5.jpg/IMG

That was great the second time round playing do you know the member?

Just had to trudged through the last 100 pages to catch up with what I've missed (damn, i should have been working on covers and disk art for the final realease, and ADY wishing you good health, as i had no idea at the time mate).

New set now dedicated to Adys project for me (as i just need a worthy cause):

Okay then, never tried it as yet, but lets see how this works out. Need a DVD edition fom the UK to PIF it onwards (DVD5 would be good but a DVD9 would be fantastic, as ive converted the XViD to DVD but this isnt going to do it this any justice, and is a place holder-i hope). Anyone?

Also, that painting is fabulous BTW. And JD if your reading and need any help.....

As a side note , YES, i do re-edit my every post, because as some-one pointed out to me here, i may be dislexic (and its something i DO have a problem with), and i threfore (<my wireless keyboard skips letters if i type fast there. I CAN see it) have to google my spellings of everything i post. So thats why I do it!

OK, thats off my chest now..........

Ziz... I considered paying the Rapidshare fee, but I just hate paying for download services when there are perfectly free ones floating around out there (not to mention my distaste for paying for a slightly altered version of a movie I already own).

Do you know if a paid member can download more than one file at at time from Rapidshare? If I could simply click away and download 80 files simultaneously, I might pay the fee. However, if I'm still stuck with downloading one file at a time, I think I'll still stick it out and wait for some kind sould to make a torrent available.

yes - sort of. I don't know that you'd want to try and DL all 80 rars at once. With my DSL connection, I typically like to DL about 5 files at a time since each is 100 MB. Yes, I have to dl the next set every 30 min. When I've tried to do like 20-30 at a time they end up 'timing out'.

[EDIT: though if you have a decent download manager program, you can queue the files so they DL in order so you don't have to babysit. I did a trial of one that worked great, but the trial ran out and I didn't want to front the cash to buy it, can't remember what it was now]

I've also DL other edits from fanedit (of movies I own - just to be clear). so the access fee has been well worth it. just my 2 cents.

everyone has their favorite DL method, but rapidshare has worked best for me

(I'm up to part 55 of 80. almost there... almost there...)

Thanks for the info OBtwosy... might pay the fee after all if no torrent is forthcoming in the next couple of days.

If you use Firefox, FlashGot and FlashGet are great for Rapidshare use, and completely free.

Hi, guys and girls! I've been gone for a while now. I se that the DVD-9 is now available. Plus that I hear work on ESB has already began. Ady, your work is impressive to say the least, I hope you don't burn out because of us though.

Did anyone put the dvd-5 Purist Edit on rapidshare or a torrent? I skimmed through the page, but I might have missed it. You never know.

One last consideration from me. I want to have a 2 disc Star Wars Revisited set - basically, Adywan's cover art in a 2 disc case with the DVD9 as the first disc (Adywan's label) and the Purist Edition DVD5 as the second disc. Does anyone plan to make any disc art for the Purist Edition?

If not, either I'll try and make something (but I'm sure it's going to look awful) or I will just suck up and leave the unlabelled disc in the case.

Then, hopefully, I can get to work on that origami DVD boxset that should hopefully encompass Empire Revisited and Jedi Revisited.

if you go back through this thread, there is plenty of cover shots for
both the revisited, and purist versions, and if you get the dvd9,
there is cover art included....

here's a whole bunch of covers..

He wants disc art, which few have made, and no one has made PURIST covers at all. I would suggest just typing PURIST on Ady's disc art and printing it out as "Disc 2". If I was printing out disc labels, that's what I'd do.

any version of firefox with the FREE download manager called downloadthemall
'download them all'.....will let you get them all quickly..

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201

also

http://www.downthemall.net/

rapidshare lets you queue up to 100 files....however, if you do 5/10/20
at a time (depending on your connection)....i use 5, you can get then all
very quickly, and you don't even have to monitor them...

thanks -1
good to know

I got all the files an un-rar'ed them. I had to see it before burning (need to get DVDs later today) and when I viewed it in MPEGStreamclip it sort of 'blinks' every now and then. maybe it's just that software. I'll burn a copy and see. not sure what to do with an md5 on a Mac.

also, I had done cover art some time ago and posted the rapidshare link for those interested, it didn't make it into the DVD-ROM folder though. No bruised feelings or anything, but it's still over at fanedit.org if anybody wants it. (http://www.fanedit.org/fanedits_coverart/adywan/newhope/SW4Revisited_OBtwosy.rar)

Darth Solo, Those covers are looking sweet, I find the spines a bit hard to make out, although i like the idea. Overall they are looking pretty good.

Adywan - Don't worry, I'm sure there will be LOTS of other personal cover attempts long into the future for this one anyway.

Adywan - got the DVD-9 yesterday! Loved pretty much everything on the DVD! And I gotta tell you, your box art is really something! I know this, because my sister who hates Star Wars liked the box art!

Now, you can take a well-earned rest after having worked so hard to make such a great fan edit!

Seeing the Wampa was great after all the years of not really seeing him but it also took away the mystery of that creature so i want to return that scene to having that mystery so no more wampa.

I agree with you here Ady, most of the SE Wampa scenes ruin the "unknown terror" the Wampa represents. How many of those SE shots do you plan to remove? Just my opinion now, but I would remove all the SE shots of the Wampa eating but leave in the final SE shot of the Wampa screaming and clutching its shoulder after Luke severed its arm, I actually like that final shot. But if you want to remove all SE shots that's cool to.

So are you officially on vacation now that all ANH Revisited versions are completed? If so, enjoy your time off and please let us know when you plan on starting work on ESB. Peace to you Adywan.

You need to hop over to the ESBR thread! We're having fun over there arguing the same points.
