As for the new debate on how much of Vader to show on Bespin after the fight, why show that much at all...the end of the movie is more about Luke and his failure to listen to his teachers and learning a much bigger truth than he wanted. It's about his struggle to remain alive rather than sticking in a slightly jarring extra bit of Vader walking to his shuttle. Sticking more Vader in is more about Lucas and his sudden wish to make Anakin Skywalker the focus of a story which did set out as 'The Adventures of Luke Skywalker' - at least according to the novel. Despite the shortness of the clip, it does detract from Luke's plight...to me in any case.
I'm all for adding bits, chopping and/or retaining bits as long as there is a purpose for them. I'm sure Ady will know what to remove or retain and will, no doubt, ask the many people with ideas on here when he needs them...Lucas' desire to suddenly turn Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader into the focus of the story probably did a lot to cause the problems of the prequel trilogy. Let's not do it with the Revisited one!
Of course, if I have got the wrong end of the stick - as can be the case when you're only reading a bit of the thread! - then feel free to correct me.
