Val Kilmer as Kitt? Could be cool.
Is Hasselhoff in it or just producing?
The new guy (Michael Knight's son?) looks painfully uncool in a 'let's make him hip and cool for the kids' way.
All in all - could be ok.

Some people are in a helicopter and scoping for us? No problem, we'll just magically change into another kind of Mustang. Need to get to Las Vegas pronto? No problem, we'll just shoot across the country at 200mph because the cops certainly won't care. Trouble inside the casino? No problem, we'll just hack into the closed-circuit security cameras and unlock a door that can only be opened by a security card. Worried about a collision? Don't fret, because even a large SUV traveling at highway speed couldn't put a dent in this car, much less move it at the point of impact.

As much as I liked the original Trans Am, I couldn't help but wonder why they couldn't have made a new type of car instead relying on some clunky old Pontiac.

I don't know. I had seen a few pics of this one so I assumed it was the one for the series. I didn't know there will be a movie also. I wonder why they would make different cars for the series and the movie?

The show for me was good, not great. Way too many problems later on. As usual, people being executed in motel parking lots, villains running around with machine guns, cars locked in death races on the road and nary a cop or another person in site. Plus the usual non-descript Euro-bad guy, along with his non-descript Asian henchman, along with the totally non-stereotypical computer hacker with the horn-rimmed glasses. Please oh please.
On the bright side I loved the car, the story was obviously well thought out (the implementation sucked), the main actors didn't repulse me too much. I'll give it a shot if it goes to series.

Now that KITT is portrayed by a different type of car, I have been thinking of how they might change around other cool vehicles of the past to lame modern day counter parts. I'm thinking a PT Cruser to be Dr. Brown's new time traveling car of choice in an as of yet unplanned Back to the Future remake.

If you had told me some years ago that KITT would one day in a future Knight Rider remake be a Mustang voiced by Val Kilmer, I would probably have said the exact same thing.
