FYI, I also found this atricle from Bob Nillan on the subject of curing LD warpage from around 1992ish:

This all seems pretty good advice, and it all seems to boil down to: heat the discs a bit and press the buggers flat again by sandwhiching them between a couple of sheets of glass and stack something heavy on top.
