Bitter, much? So you would stick to your own OT fundamentalism instead of introducing your kid to three movies (just movies, mind you) that they might potentially enjoy? If they don't like the PT either, just shut it off, but to not show it to them just because of your own aesthetic tastes is disturbingly extreme.

I would show my younglings the original versions of Star Wars, Empire and Jedi in that order.
There's nothing else to show...
If they discover anything else after that, that's their business. I will not be the one to show them any of the shit that came afterwards.

Oh, I'm sure my son would enjoy the PT...for a few minutes. And even if he sits through them right now and loves every minute, I have no doubt that when he's 16 or even older, he'll sit down to watch them and say the same thing that I say about Thundercats (pick any random bad 80's cartoon) "I use to watch this crap?"
Contrast that with the OT (and other good 80's cartoons like Robotech). I can sit down and enjoy them time and time again. They never get old. No matter which version I watch (OOT or any fan edits, I don't do SEs), I always enjoy them.
The PT on the other hand is barely tolerable to me. TPM seems to get worse every time. AOTC and ROTS are better and actually tolerable, but they're still bad. Even the fan edits can't remove all the crap.
My kids will see the OOT and if they take a liking to it, I can only hope they'll watch it as much as I did (every day for 3 months when I was a kid during summer). When they get older, if they ask about the prequels, I might throw the DVDs in the player so they can see for themselves what a horrible botch job Lucas pulled. I'd rather see them enjoy something that they'll still enjoy as adults then show them something they'll enjoy right now and then later look back and say "I can't believe I use to watch this crap".
