On a second thought - this could be actually pulled off, provided that the designers & their superiors have some common sense + imagination.
I find it ridiculous for Vader or other key character buying land that is Death Star, Rebel base on Yavin 4 etc. (other key places)
But if we were to get Lando or Jabba buying various factories and facilities (asteroid mining sites, Tibanna gas processing plants - go figure the rest) we could get Monopoly in SW universe that doesn't look outright silly.
But hey, if people had such subtlety and insight, PT would be executed perfectly, OOT would be released properly... etc. etc. ;)
