I like how SW novels have been reduced (or perhaps risen?) to a competition of which writer can manage the more shocking death of a main character. Starting to sound like comic books. Next thing you know Luke will reveal his secret identity on national TV, while Mon Monthma and Ackbar argue as to whether or not they should be required to register with the government on account of their superhuman powers ending with Ackbar's assassination and... eerrr, oh never mind.

R.I.P. Mara Skywalker.

mon mothma, and ackbar are both dead they died in the book timeline 15 previous to where the story currently is. Oh chewie is also dead, as is Anakin solo(han and leia's youngest son) Admiral Pellion (the guy in charge of the empire's fleet after the emperor died) he died to in the last book.

Maybe a good idea would be to read one of the books before you go and think they are crasy stories. Movies on par with the OT could be made using some of the books as templates its not all garbage.

oh one last thing, the writers aren't competing for deaths of main characters, stories are planned and arcs are fleshed out over a number of books, right now the are jsut finishing up a 9 book story arc and Mara's death wasn't something out of no where, its something that was built up over time.
