It's kind of ironic. This past weekend (before his death), Turner Classics showed one of it's "Private Screenings" with him. The host talks one on one with the subject, show and discuss clips of their career, etc. At the end the host asked him for a little Shakespeare and Heston gave a reading from The Tempest, where the main character (a magician) is leaving the island where he'd been exiled. The character was loved by the people so he held a party before leaving. He then goes into a speech about how the party's over and how we're all just magical "stuff" like his phantom creatures. It was a beautiful reading by a true actor, a real man, and one of the few remaining of a dying breed.
