DarthSmokey... welcome to the forums. I enjoyed reading your post; it's nice hearing from people who have been fans since the beginning.

Although I wasn't old enough to see Star Wars upon its opening release (I was only born in '77), having grown up with it on VHS from as early on as I can remember, I totally empathize with you when you say that the original Star Wars has a certain something about it that the prequels just can't match. Also, like you (and others) have said, it's nice having an edit of Star Wars from someone like Adywan who really 'gets' what it's about.

I actually saw the original on the big screen.....although I was only about four years old......ever wonder if it was such a special movie because of your age and the early childhood memories, etc, the impact that movie had at the time, and the fact that it was a much more simple time,(31 years ago)........don't get me wrong it's a great movie, especially with Ady's updates, but I bet there are a load of young kids that saw Ep.I at a young age, and feel that it and the PT are as amazing as you remember ANH and the OT being.

I really enjoy all of the movies, the entire saga as a whole, and I just wish we could stop bashing the quality of this trilogy vs. that trilogy.......It's all great, and tells one of my favorite stories since I can remember. Well just my opinion....peace my Star Wars brothers and sisters.
