I apologize for continuing the ROTJ discussion but it seems Lando, in all early versions, survives according to SW.com and IMDb.com

I dont mean too sound to harsh and its totally your decision but I doubt Id watch an ending with Lando not making it... Its just one of the most exciting scenes when he flies out of the Death Star in such a dramatic fashion
