Frendon...that is an excellent idea.....at first Luke could see the old geezers that he recognizes, and then when he turns back around they could kind of morph into their younger/healthier states for their eternal state. Best idea in a long time....plus it would really tie the whole saga all together!
Author
Time
That would be a terrible idea. It is not needed. We know who these characters are and there is no need just to show them as their younger selves. What would be the point anyway? None, hence why Ady will not do it.

My apologisies, Matt. I meant it opposite from what you read there. Now if he were to say, "Aw, frak!", then I could go for the change.

But Matt, you did present the idea pretty well. Kudos for that!

Oh dear. I was going for sarcasm and over-the-top.... Rest assured that I _did_ read you correctly!

Yes. Along with ALL the other Jedi he doesn't know. Excellent plan. :^?

I personally thought that the videos I've seen with Sebastian Shaw turning into Hayden through a fade were done brilliantly. However, those videos are long gone from youtube. If only I could show you. It looked good, but of course not as good as only Shaw. I say just keep Sebastian Shaw and be done with it; forget the fade. It may sound like I'm advocating the opposite, but I'm not - I'm only saying that it can be done well.

I wouldn't mind seeing it for curiosity sake, but I wouldn't want it in the final thought.

I know exactly what you mean. lol

Jedi won't be having any extra force ghosts appear nor will they morph into their younger selves. The ending will be different in some ways, this i have already planned. Gone will be the "new age" music at the end and i will be replacing it with a more fitting orchestral piece (i just have to find the right piece of music for that). Also, as i have mentioned before, a main character will die, returning the story to what what originally planned. One thing i want to do is somehow turn Jedi away from being just a rehash of ANH, which is exactly what it is now. I'm not sure how i'm going to accomplish this yet though. A few more things already planned is that we will finally see some rebel fighters smash into the Death Stars shields. And the Superstardestroyer will no longer crash into the Death Star, but will in fact take out some other stardestroyers (hopefully if i can pull it off). "weesa free" will also be gone. Apart from these changes nothing else has been planned out yet and i'm not going to even think about ROTJ until ESB is finished, so can we return this thread back to the original topic which is ESB. No more Jedi suggestions please.

I know you rather keep Sebastian Shaw in there instead of Hayden if anything else for the nostalgic feeling, Qui-Gon is an unnessecary addition, however I would have Anakin morph into Hayden because when you look at the overall saga 1-6 Hayden Christensen IS Anakin, Sebastian Shaw is only Anakin for less than a minute plus Anakin never actually looked or dressed the way he does in his Sebstian Shaw Form. And to make it look less awkward as it is now, Hayden younger self and everyone old self, I would have Obi morph as well. Is a compromise I would be willing to make, of course as always this is your edit, I was just throwing ideas out there. Last ROTJ mention, I promise, now back to ESB....
I wish I had a Kryptonite cross, because then you could keep both Dracula AND Superman away.

I don't know if you could pull it off, but, as you seem to want to go back to the original story, you could somehow transport the Emperor Death Star scenes to Had Abbadon (Coruscant) and make Endor the "Green of Moon" of Had Abbadon that was originally planned. Would be tricky, but awesome!

Poor Lando, BTW.

I apologize for continuing the ROTJ discussion but it seems Lando, in all early versions, survives according to SW.com and IMDb.com

I dont mean too sound to harsh and its totally your decision but I doubt Id watch an ending with Lando not making it... Its just one of the most exciting scenes when he flies out of the Death Star in such a dramatic fashion

I disagree completely. Ever since I heard that maybe Lando didn't make it out of the DS2 its given me chills, and over the years I've come to appreciate how good of an idea it would have been. I think it gives the ending a sense of balance, since besides Vader and one Ewok, no one dies or even looks like they might die. I'm not sure how Ady can address it without anyone mentioning it in the rest of the movie ("Yay, we win. Lando who?").

But back to ESB: Is Ady going to move the Falcon as it leaves Hoth so Luke is actually watching it leave instead of moving his head to where its going to be? Or pause Luke's head so the sound timing is still right?

Thats cool, thats your opinion. I just enjoy it when he blasts out of the Tunnel and yells. Maybe a bit corny but still a great scene.

Ive recently noticed the Falcon and Lukes "turn" arent in sync too. One thing with the Asteroid Chase I thought seemed overly antiquated was the explosion of the tie when it runs into a asteroid, it just has a "cheap" feel to it.

Well that's another example of star wars history being re-written (& don't believe a word imdb says cuz they get loads of things wrong). This was spoke about long before the days of the internet and fake scripts. There was an interview with GL somewhere where he states that Lando was going to die but that the scene was never filmed.. One hint of this direction is when Han looks at the Falcon and says that he has a feeling like he's never going to see her again. Pretty redundant line if that was never the intention. ROTJ needed a dramatic ending, even Ford knew that, and having Lando die while saving the galaxy was totally fitting. I always felt that the death star explosion build up was so pale compared to ANH. GL even used the same build up in PTM: ship flies in, shoots core, flies out as its blowing up, lets out a yahoo then it blows up. ROTJ needs a good kick in the arse because it is the weakest of the OT and a very poor ending to the saga. I wonder if this is going to turn into "the great flipper debate part 2"? . lol.

The thing is, this may not even happen. I have a few ideas of how to do it but when it comes to actually doing it then it might not even be possible.

Back to ESB i will be doing something to sync up the falcon and lukes turn in that scene.

Hey Ady, just chiming in to say that your cut of ANH has gone on top of the disc that came with the original 2004 box set in my collection. Really impressive work, i'd be stunned if Lucasfilm didn't offer you some sort of employment after this. I especially loved your trivia track comments during the end credits :D

At any rate, I understand that this is your edit, and your vision of how the movies should work - a lot of people are saying you *have* to do this and *have* to do that, when you don't have to do anything of the sort. I appreciate that you're entertaining all of our suggestions though.

My own two cents on ESB are that I liked a lot of the 2004 changes, especially the dialogue between Vader and the Emperor. Of course Vader was already aware of Luke's existence, but him feigning surprise at the Emperor's revelation of Luke's paternity is a perfect set up for the Bespin duel when Vader implores Luke to help him overthrow the Emperor: we see that Vader is more crafty than we had thought and that he has his own secrets that he keeps from his master. It also ties in nicely with the Sith Rule of Two. Finally, having "Anakin Skywalker" mentioned in ESB helps tie the Saga together imo.

The same thing goes with Boba's voice. Lucas could have gone wild and redubbed all of the Stormtrooper's voices, but he didn't. Boba's voice being redubbed ties back to Ep2 and reminds us of Jango and the entire reason why the Empire is in power in the first place. Again, there is that connection to the PT tying the Saga together. I'd hate to see it go.

I'm a huge f/x nut, so I liked the computerized shot of the shuttle landing in the Executor. I'd love to see it kept in somehow, but understand the criticism that it ruins the pacing of the movie.

I also wonder if there is any way to change the sequence of Boba loading up the frozen Han onto the Slave 1. That shot always struck me as being so flat and two dimensional. This would probably be very difficult to do.

Finally, I really like the fact that they added in the windows to Cloud City - it helped make it seem as though it were an actual city, and not just the inside of a spaceship.

These are just my thoughts, thanks at least for considering them. Oh, and even though there's to be no talk of the ROTJ edits, by god, that idea of Luke having Sith eyes when he defeats Vader would be incredible.

Regarding the ROTJ ending (I'm sorry to bring this up but I must), I doubt that the whole galaxy would hear so soon. I mean, isn't Endor very close to the outer rim? I doubt the whole galaxy could find out so soon. Plus, do you think that the whole remaining Empire would just give up like that? That all the planets would be free? I doubt it. I say go back to the "Teddy-Bear Parade" and change the music.

Ady, you might want to make a "STAR WARS EPISODE VI REVISITED" thread.
People keep getting into it so much that they are forgetting what this thread is all about.

(don't mean to sound like an ass)

It seems too early for an episode VI thread. Those ideas will be forgotten when its time for that edit. We should just try to stick to ESB, even though it is easy to diviate, lol.

Anyway, somebody mentioned that Luke flies of the planet Hoth way too easily without encountering any imperials, and that it would be great to add the disabled Star Destroyer Tyrant (that was hit by the Ion Canon earlier) in the background.

I agree with that idea. I also think it would be a good idea to add some more Star Destroyers to Vader's fleet. Nothing much, just a few more to give it a grander feel. Kinda like the added AT-AT walkers ady will put in.

Ady will you fix the officer with the wrong rank insignia at the beginning? I would be happy to help you with how the insignias work if that's the case.

Hi, Ady. Must admit to being a little late to the EP IV "REVISITED" project but once I found it I was Impressed. Great work.

Why do we need his voice to be exactly the sames as Jango's?
His name is Boba Fett, he wears body armour simaler to Jango Fett's and flys a ship like the Ep2 bounty hunter who had a son called Boba. What more do you need to tie it into Ep2?

Accents aren't genetic. They're nurture not nature. How many people here speak with the same voice as their parents? The Clone troopers from Ep3 shouldn't all have the same voice so why should Boba?

Anyway, that's my little rant over and done with :)

Boba having his Dad's voice is fine with me, as Boba is a clone. The Stormtroopers have different voices because (and I'm guessing here) by this time, the troopers are a mix of clones and newer, human recruits...which is why the later troopers are less, well, effective than they were in the prequels.

I would personally prefer the old Boba Fett voice, mainly for two reasons:

1. the line delivary was better

2. the voice was more intimidating, fitting a feared bounty hunter

It's really easy to explain too: a voice modulator built into the helmet to make himself more frightening, to build on his reputation and such.

Remember when Leia was disguised as a bounty hunter in Return of the Jedi? To say that her voice then was very different from her own nautural voice is an understatement.

This.

I'd go with the Wingreen voice.
