As someone new to these perservation/fan edit projects, your site has already helped me. It's pretty cool to see what's out there, besides what I've already come across. Now I just have to figure out where to find this stuff.

Pat-Fett: Thanks for the kind words.

Much (although not all) is available via RapidShare and/or BitTorrent, as well as a.b.starwars. If you don't know or understand these services, there are many great tutorials across the internet. I have been slowly posting very basic tutorials on my blog (don't expect detailed explainations, just enough info to get you started) and last night transferred much of them to the Tutorial section of the DVDHolocron. If after reading the tutorials you are still unclear, feel free to send me an email.

I am also hard at work on a distribution forum, of sorts. Tentatively entitled "DVDHolocron Star Wars DVD Vines," it borrows a concept from my Grateful Dead music trading days. There will be a thread for each DVD that is showcased in the DVDHolocron. When you locate a DVD you would like, you post in the thread for that DVD stating that you would like to be added to the list for that disc. When you obtain one of these DVD's, you can post that you are willing to distribute it. Basically, anyone willing to distribute a disc, simply goes to that thread, sends it to the first person on the list; when the first person receives it, they copy it and send it to the second person on the list, and so on, and so on. It has worked quite well for many years in the GD Trading community, I'm hoping to get it off the ground for these as well.

I'm a bittorrent vet. I mostly stick to demonid and dled a few things off there, which led me here. I even made my own DVD and put it up there. Do a search for Transformers and look for the same username Pat-Fett. It's nothing compared to what this community does, but it's a cool collection of Jap. TF toons. I'd love to learn how these guys do it.

I've tried rapidshare and similare sites a few times. I think I'm a bit spoiled by bit torrent. The one hour wait between files bugs me. I did find myspleen last night and found some great stuff. Just finished watching Return of the Ewok by the same guy that did deleted magic. That just blew my mind. Not only do you get ROTE in it's entirety, but you get a buch of cool extras that I've never seen, including Donny and Marie SW tribute and a vid of Star Tours plus more.

I love your distribution idea. You know what would be really cool if there was a torrent site deicated to these things. Maybe expand it to include all types of Fan edits. Just a thought. Thanks for the offer of advise I'll be sure to take you up on that sometime.

Mathiias,

I see the site is down. Is this a temporary thing, or are you no longer going to keep the site? It was fantastic, and I appreciate everything you did I hope things are well.
