I am very proud of you padawan learner!

now can you post on what you are contributing please?

and I thought we were going to stop and leave this Ady's thread? not ours.

It was a good comeback and fitting since you're acting like a bitch for the last few pages. I'm trying to move on, but since you keep saying things like FU and I don't contribute anything I'm not going to be called out like that and let you have the last word. All you've contributed in this thread recently is taking the focus off Adywan's edit and acting like a dick to everyone who posts something you don't deem worthy. So, if you want to get this thread back on track, stick to the subject at hand and stop trying to police a thread that isn't yours. Last time I checked it didn't say Moderator under your username.

Not here.....but I did put the files on a USB drive and gave it to a friend with a MAC.......I will see is he used his MAC or his Windows box tomorrow and post back!

Wow.....in less than a week I have given a physical copy of this edit to almost 25 people and not a one has been less than thrilled about this thing. I gave copies of the Xvid to over 40 people.....most included in the 25 previously mentioned and it has rekindled this Texas land back to the feelings of 1977 all over again. I just got 6 more emails requesting copies. And yes......I am paying for every one of them because this edit is more than worth it.

I now have 7 friends with HD-DVD players that I told to wait a few days and I would get them a copy now that will play on their machines as well.

This is going to be a great Star Wars Year!!!! Revisited......The Force Unleashed.......The Clone Wars Animated Series (In the Theaters no less).....Wow!!!!!

For MAC burners, I used Disk Utility. Just select the .iso file and burn it to DVD.

I think people should start posting screenshots from the DVD5...

Watching it again, I miss the brief shot of Tarkin sitting there thinking right before the Death Star explodes.

Still, this is pretty darned fantastic. I can't wait to be blown away by the quality of the DVD9!

Um... to whom it may concern, the maturity level of this thread is dropping fast, could you guys maybe use PMs or make a thread in the offtopic section for your pointless bickering? Thanks.

That definitely won't be happening this year. i need a good long break and plan out exactly what i will be doing to the edit and how things will be done. If i started it when the DVD-9's are finished i would just burn myself out. As it stands at the moment i won't want to see another star wars films for months after ANHR is done with. Over 2 years of constantly seeing and hearing Star Wars is enough for even the most hardened fan.

Also can we stop all the bickering now. the thread is getting too clogged up with it.

I would also like some feedback on the audio just in case i need to tweak anything for the DVD-9's

Thanks for the Mac DVD burning replies...that is what I was hoping. Ya Adywan.....take a break.....it is easy to get burned out when you are the one doing all of the editing, etc......I have experienced this in the music world with writing, performing, and then recording, editing, mixing, and essentially mastering projects......I usually can't stand the song created by the end of all of that, and need many weeks away from it to appreciate the work that has been done. But as a bystander on this one.....your work is greatly appreciated, and that ESB project is greatly anticipated by all of us.......after a long break of course...Peace

What? You're joking right? You need a break? With the massive salary we are paying you, you still have the stones to ask for a vacation? We ought to fire you, see where you would be then eh? How would you like to have to do your next edit on your own free time, free time taken from your family after a hard days work? Yeah, didn't think you'd be too keen on that! Now you'll stop your complaining and get back to work immediately, if you know what is good for you.

Ady, shouldn't it be 'yes, my master' in keeping with ESB?

Damn, missed an opportunity there.

Well the NTSC DVD-5 that should be compatible with the HD-DVD players Is going up now in a.b.starwars only. It is tagged as "REPACK". It also has a slightly different sound mix to the others along with a couple of very minor tweaks to a couple of shots and revised end credits that will be the version on the DVD-9's. I'm pretty sure i have the L & R channels a bit too high so i have lowered them slightly. Anyone that will be getting this version could you please let me know about the audio and if this sounds better so i can get an accurate assessment ready for the DVD-9 versions.

Do you think the repacked NTSC version will be torrented as well? I'll keep seeding the current version (which still hasn't finished for me), but whatever your "definitive" version is would be preferred I think.

There were a few things I noticed last night, but opted not to mention because I figured it's too late for suggestions and I don't want to piss anyone off. For the vast majority of the time, I was in awe at how great it sounded.

A couple of swells seemed uncomfortably loud... I'll try to make a list over the weekend.

Also, I don't know if this is on the original soundtrack but I never noticed it before: in the canyon scene as the Jawas are carrying R2 away, there's this "bong" in the right front channel that didn't sound like part of the score, or anything connected to the scene. Maybe it's supposed to be there, I'm not sure; it almost sounds like a Windows ding. I'll come up with a time code and report back.

Just finished downloading the NTSC version via torrent from mininova last night... burned a copy and flipped through the menus and the movie quickly. Looks absolutely fantastic Ady. Only thing left to do is to print out a nifty cover and label for it before slipping it onto my shelf

For all those of you still downloading the NTSC version via torrent, I'll be seeding for awhile yet (at least till I've reached a 5:1 ratio). Enjoy!

EDIT:
P.S. Thanks to everyone involved for getting this up and out so quickly... I'm truly amazed at how great this community is for helping fellow forum members out. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

Love the edit. I was wondering if on the dvd-9 (or elsewhere), the 3D Jabba scene will (also) be available in full-color left/right (side-by-side, over-under etc.), and possibly including a depth map. Anaglyph and mpeg encoding have never been the best of combinations. How was the conversion to 3D done, if I may ask?

I have a request about the audio, adywan!

If I'm not mistaken, in the original version, the slow sad (sorry I don't recall the name of the theme from the soundtrack) music starts up just as Obi-Wan is smiling and closing his eyes to make his "noble sacrifice" before Vader cuts him down (up to this point, no music).

In your version, the Episode III music is coming to a crescendo and then you had the extra slow drop of the cloak and so forth as that music kicks in. It's a little too abrupt for me because then you get Luke's "NOOO!" and then the dramatic music swells up.

For me I think it was much more effective when the sad music starts to play before the killing stroke because you know what's about to happen (which is why Vader's death stroke is in slow motion), rather than .. oh he died, he's disappearing, okay now get sad.

Anyway, you may disagree, since obviously that was your deliberate creative decision (no joke this time), but I'd encourage you to put the sad music in sooner to make the scene even better.

PS: This isn't an audio change, but I really miss the brief shot of Tarkin brooding right before the Death Star explosion is shown. If there were some way to splice that frame back in, that'd be awesome.

I also noticed that in the (1997 CGI) shot of Luke's X-wing flipping in front of the camera as the TIE chases it (as he's saying "I can't shake him!") you didn't fix the "Red 5" markings on the wings of his craft (though you did in another shot, which was cool.... all the CG added X-wings had just two hatch marks on the wings, for Red 2).

Anyway, I realize you want to hurry up and move on so you can take a break and rest up for ESBR, but I just wanted to make those suggestions. The music thing is probably the least amount of work to tweak, and that'd be awesome if you could fix that!

What? You released ANOTHER version?! Wow, you are amazing.

Can you tell us what precisely these other few "Minor tweaks" are in the repack? I'm very curious now...!
