In my opinion, the funniest show ever made. Pure comic genius. It was great when it first aired, but it just gets better and better with age when you compare it to sitcoms now.

But most people I talk with now don't seem to care for it. Any fans here at OT? Favorite episodes? I love "The Jimmy", "The Opposite", "The Junior Mint", "The Implant"... there are just so many great ones. Almost every episode is classic, IMO...

I am by no means a fan of sitcoms. I pretty much hate them. Can't stand that canned laughter (or the laughter from the live audience), really grates on my nerves. Seinfeld is one of the few sitcoms I will ever watch. One of the best shows ever IMHO. It is a classic. It really doesn't get old to me. It is also very easy to relate to sometimes, many of the situations are situations you have possibly been in yourself in a less hyperbolic extent (parking garage, laughing in the middle of a concert, etc.)

I don't know the names but there are 2 episodes i really loved [among favourites].

One was when Jerry and Kramer swapped apartments and began acting like each other. and the other was when there were going to a wedding and it started at teh end and kept jumping back in time to the start.

I hate Seinfeld, that guys grates my nerves and I don't care much for the show. However, Julia Louis-Dreyfus was one of the hottest babes of all time in sitcoms, at least in the time she was filming "Seinfeld". Just my 2 cents.

The show was great. I hate sitcoms but I loved Seinfeld. I assume that I'd still like it today.

For some reason this show never really got a proper airing in the UK, it was always on at like 1am on BBC2 or something (same deal with Family Guy, but that didn't even get a terestrial airing, it was on BBC 4 or some shit that you need a digibox to receive... but I digress).
Anyway, thanks to DVD I am able to watch this 'show about nothing' and it's great. Curb your enthusiasm is also very good.

War does not make one great.

Certain shows in Oz seem to fall into a groove where they remain in reruns in prime time forever. This is true of seinfeld, mash, the simpsons, etc. It's just one of 'those' shows that you can see any episode and generally be entertained without worry of exposition.

Seinfeld is the most innovative and funny sitcom I have ever seen. The characters were great, each episode with 4 stories woven into one ending were great, and the secondary characters like Newman, George's Parents, Uncle Leo, Puddy, etc, were classic too. The best season was 1992-93 where Jerry/George make the pilot of a show about 'nothing' Other great episodes that season were The Contest and who was 'Master of their domain', the Pitch to NBC executives where George walks out and says, "I will not compromise my artistic integrity." and of the one where Jerry/George are assumed as being Gay when the reporter overhears them joking with Elaine and the phrase 'Not that there is anything wrong with that."

Seinfeld is in my top two. Not sure in which order, but that and Arrested Development. Julia Louis is unbelievably hot in Seinfeld...especially later in the series.

^^ See, I think she was more attractive earlier in the first six or seven seasons. After that she got some kind of makeover and didn't look the same at all....

I love the episode when she gets sprayed by the hose outside on the street and Kramer accuses her of trying to attract attention to herself

I didn't care for the later look she had with the short curly hair. I liked it when it was more straight and pulled up. The curly/short later in the series made her look bad, IMO. I just remember the "Ketchup Secret" moment and drool...
