Thanks for the report Covenant. This really has me scratching my head. Played fine on my mates HD-DVD player. Its also strange that yours plays the PAL fine but not the NTSC and both use Procoder. With the reports that the timer stops a while before the freeze it does look like a conflict between the players and Procoder, but only NTSC encodes. I have just checked the NTSC template that comes with Procoder and the custom PAL template i created for procoder and there is a slight difference in settings. One setting is not present in the NTSC template and that is "put system header on every pack". Now when i had this box un-ticked in the PAL template i created i couldn't skip chapters without problems but it didn't freeze. I would have thought that the NTSC DVD template that came with porocoder was supposed to have created a compliant MPeg stream, especially after dong a lot of research on the web about all the settings for Procoder and everyone saying that the NTSC template is the best to use to create a fully compliant DVD MPEG2. I wish there was a way i could test new renders of the movie with different settings on a HD-DVD that's has the problem. but my mates played it fine so that rules that out. But when all DVD players seem to play it fine i guess that Toshiba HD-DVD have to have specific settings for a MPEG2 file. Now all i need to do is find the perfect setting for all round compatibility for the DVD-9

Now that the dvd-5 is out, should we be considering posting a new xvid and taking down the old one ? Im sure this fan edit is going to get lots of attention and osme people will download the old xvid and see the film pre-final changes.

i won't be doing another XVID release of the new version. I'm not sure it would really be worth it anyway. there are only a few changes between the two.
