Ady, What software are you using to emulate the menus of the retail DVDs? The retail menus and movies play fine and yours look just like the retail ones but obviously something is different.

I'm using Sony DVD Architect to build the DVD. I've used this software for over 4 years an i have never had a single report of it causing problems and i have done hundreds discs for people ( i used to run a Video to DVD service and i have done a few weddings with orders of a few hundred at a time and never a problem). The menus were all built from scratch and Everything was encoded using Procoder 3(including the PAL version). I also ran the NTSC disc through PGCEDIT and that reported no problem at all with anything, so the structure is sound. It just seems to me that its the NTSC Toshiba HD-DVD players that are the problem. If it was the structure there would have been other posts about the disc not playing (especially in the newsgroups because they jump all over bad posts)

after looking at some other threads it does seem that the problem lies with some Toshiba HD-DVD player not liking things encoded with Procoder, mainly after updating the firmware. For me Procoder has produced a much better quality picture than any of the other MPEG encoders available, even at such low bitrates, and plays well on everything else so far so i will continue to use Procoder for the DVD-9. And don't forget that HD-DVD is really a dead format now anyway
