seriously, I am fine being patient and waiting for it. the above is merely a question, not an impatient demand.

I'm just not having good luck with newsgroups, and RS has always been good to me.

i have paid to giganews for one month, and i think i've lost my money... i've downloaded the pal version, with a lot of incomplete files and i don't know how repair it...

rapidshare is my hope... a new hope

I'm not a paying member of rapidshare (or usenet), so I guess that's why I don't want to use it, but for someone who does... more the merrier!

Good job that man! Glad you signed up !! ;' ))

No problems Covenant, I always like to help out when I know what I'm talking about.

It was from this forum that I learned about AltBinz and with that was able to successfully get the incomplete rars, so I only had about 66 blocks to repair in the end. Not bad for a couple of days work.

And for anyone wanting, and who isn't, to dl the dvd9 version, SVP are doing a 10% discount on all DL media. The voucher code is svp10dl.

(Hope I'm not bending any rules by plugging their offer)

On the NTSC Version......it is showing that parts 27-34 are missing.

Are you still uploading Ady?

The par files do no good with the whole file missing unless I am missing something.....no pun intended on the "missing"

All the parts are there. Get a better service or refresh.

I use easynews and it has never had problem before......are the parts I am showing missing the same parts that are imcomplete?

Some services do not allow incomplete files due to viruses and such....but I have gotten incomplete files from here before and rebuilt them using par files.....very curious.

All parts are there on my service as well. Just had to use the PAR files for repair.

Is it possible that you have your newsreader set to not show files with parts missing?

I checked my server in case I could do a repost for you and, oddly, MY server shows the parts you are talking about, but they are also the ONLY parts of the NTSC binary to have any parts missing!

(84 in total, which is weird, cos there are 85 parts missing from the PAL posting!!)

However, I would imagine the par set could easily fix that?

Do you have to download all the NTSC PAR files?

The reason I ask is that there are two batches...one has 10 out of 10 files the other has 7 out of 9 files..

If anyone that has fixed these files could re-post them to either a.b.dvdr or a.b.starwars I would apreciate it

That is too bad. That is exactly the way I feel about torrents. Just a few hours after he finished uploading it and I have a lovely functioning NTSC DVD-5 of Adywan's Star Wars Revisited.

Usenet is the Best way to share files PERIOD. Yeah it takes about half an hour to learn it but after that it's pure sailing. For those "not good" at usenet I suggest "getting good" at usenet.

Here what is funny.....in the usenet guide I have been using the top ranked one for 3 years now and I am having problems with the incomplete files not showing up at all. I have plenty of experience with incomplete files but for some reason it is like EasyNews did not get the "incomplete" ....they think it never landed...or they do not show incompletes any more. So.....if someone would not mind posting the few files that are messed up in their fixed format I would appreciate it.....more pars will not help this problem. I already have everything but the parts 27-34 of the NTSC.

Thank you in advance to who ever could upload the 8 messed up files....I hate torrents and am not quite sure why EasyNews is not showing these incomplete files.

My take is, if its on an NG and its posted well, and it has a rar set for those with bad retention or a dodgy server, Usenet beats Torrents to a bloody pulp.
You get a steady (usually your maximum) download speed, you don;t have to worry about backdoor accessing, its easier, and there is always INSTANT feedback if the files are mot what they claim to be.

The only plus with torrents is you can usually find anything you look for. It may take time to get, but it is hard NOT to find something you might need.

(Now... how do I unsubscribe from this thrad so I don;t get it in my email box?? I'm happy enough to come here and read, but the myriad of *reminders* are annoying!!!! ;' ) )

boon23 over at fanedit.org is uploading the NTSC DVD to RapidShare right now and a torrent will follow, if nobody posts one by the time he's ready.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

FYI --- EasyNews's web interface will not show incomplete files. I was able to use Alt.Binz to connect to easy news to retrieve the incomplete files and used QuickPar to fix them......about to watch
