Hey Adywan!

I've got a few computer tech support questions to ask you and other users here @ the SWOT Forums.

Okay, last night I download, your version of SWSE off of this link > http://www.mybittorrent.com/info/1201012/

I then used BitTorrent on my parents computer which uses Windows Vista, and gave me these 2 Files:
- star.wars.episode.4.revisited.XVID. ADYWAN.NFO
- star.wars.episode.4.revisited.XVID. ADYWAN.avi

I then go to Windows Media Player to try out the .avi file. I saw all of the wonderful visuals that you created or improved a upon for the movie, but there was no sound.

Afterwords, I went into Nero to create a DVD using the .avi file. After creating the DVD, I put it into my small portable player and was same as before, wonderful visuals but no sound. no vocals, and no music.

What do I need to do, in order add sound, vocals, and music to the .avi file?

Do I need to use the .NFO file?

Help Me Out Please?!? @_@

Google the AC3 codec and try installing that.

Awesome, I will wait for the ntsc version then, BTW are you planning on adding a JACKET_P artwork for the DVD9 version??

I will possibly add one but space is going to be very tight

The .nfo file is just an information file. Open it with Notpad and you will see information about whatever the thing you downloaded it with was, in this case it will have information about Ady's Star Wars Revisited. It is kind of like the tag on a shirt, it has useful information on it, but if you tear it off, the shirt still functions just the same. So the .nfo file has nothing to do with your audio issues.

As boba feta already suggested, sounds like you need an AC3 codec installed to in order to hear the audio. That should fix the problem. Once you install an AC3 codec (should take more than five minutes to google it and find a link to one someplace) you should be able to hear the audio from whatever media player you like, doesn't matter which one you use. Window Media Player will do just fine. If you were going to get into the habit of watching .avi files often then I would suggest getting a better player like VLC media player, or Media Player Classic (both of which are freeware), but if Adywan's is the only video in this format you are likely ever to watch and you don't feel the need for advanced options then Window Media Player ought to do fine.

Hope you get it working, good luck. Sounds like you are trying to convert the Xvid to DVD? Keep in mind that Xvid is very compressed low quality format, converting it back to DVD won't gain you any of the lost quality back. In other words, in just a few days you could download the 4 gig DVD version with menus, extras, and it will be of considerably better quality. Sure you would have to wait longer for it, and it might be a pain to torrent a 4 gig file and take a few days to finish, but in the long run your blank DVD will be put to a lot better use. Of course if you are just going to play it on your portable DVD player and not on a full sized TV screen, then you might not even be able to tell the difference.

Well... First post...
(Might be a little controversial though!)

Just downloaded the *broken* DVD of Adywan's amazing work. (Had to see it in its DVD5 glory).

I feel I should make a few suggestions though.

(I know, I know, it's just FINALLY been finished, but I have read these threads and it seems perfection is the goal, so...)

The menu screens have a few problems language-wise.

Chapter 15 - Your Fathers Lightsaber should be Your Father's Lightsaber
Chapter 32 - Into The Garbage Shoot should be Into The Garbage Chute
Chapter 45 - The TIE'S attack should be (either...) The Ties Attack, or, The Ties' attack

and (this one is a matter of opinion)
Chapter 51 - A Hero's Welcome ....... wouldn't, A Hero's Return (or even better, The Heroes Return), fit better?

Anyway, like I said, not looking to do anything negative here... I think the work done on this has been... beyond words really.
(And the 3-D scene is amazing!! Is there MORE of this stuff???)

According to the nerd material, "TIE" stands for "Twin Ion Engine" so it would be TIE (or TIEs), but yeah, pretty much spot on otherwise (taking your word for it since I'm still waiting for a bt link, for the real deal...).

Sorry about the slight confusion.
I capitalized TIE by habit... ALL of the chapter lettering is capitalized.

I'm sorry to hear you're having all these problems Adywan. I know that must be quite frustrating. It's a good thing I'd already seen the AVI version, otherwise I'd be just as impatient as everyone else seems to be. Looking forward to hearing once the upload is done.

Brilliant news ady!

Can anyone help - I've created a 'NZB' file from the parts Ady has uploaded already: will this automatically include all the parts he hasnt uploaded yet and download them when they arrive? Or will I have to creat a separate NZB file each time?

Cheers
