Yeh, i just checked it out and it does suffer badly from compression artifacts. Is there any chance you could post a different version with the jpeg compression setting set to maximum & possibly with higher res too, unless that is the res that you worked on. It would be a shame to have such a good cover in poor quality.

I'm pretty sure it's just compression artifacts... I'll double check when I get home tonight

I think the original was 27.3 cm x 18.3 cm at 300 dpi

Imageshack isn't great for posting covers. You should post it on a rapidshare or a yousendit page. That way we can get the whole cover without the compression of imageshack.

thanks - I have a RS acct. - so I'll do that and let you know when it is up

OK - so I had the original here as well.

this is about as good as I think I can get it to you all. If it's not hi res enough, that's cool - it doesn't necessarily have to be available

That is indeed an awesome looking cover.

no. sorry

- anytime I have used labels, it has wrecked the DVD (yes... I am putting them on the correct side) , so I decided I would never use sticker labels on home made DVDs.

Perhaps someone else will make one?

I've just got a few tweaks to the audio track to do, which should only take this evening to do, burn the final test copy, watch it all the way through and its done. No easter egg though. there just wasn't enough space left. I'll save that for the DVD-9. Should all be good to go either later this evening or tomorrow at the latest

So if I use DVD FLICK to burn this on a DVD5, will I have any problems getting all the material on it without bad compression picture quality? Is there a way I can put just the film on one DVD and the extras on another DVD? DVDFLICK has a setting for NTSC, if this is the PAL version will I have any trouble converting it? Yes, I will be fist to tell you what an idiot I am when it comes to this stuff.

The one out tomorrow is a DVD-5 so it will fit on a single layer DVD. You won't have to shrink it. If you need NTSC then you'll have to wait a week or so until the NTSC DVD-5 is available. I wouldn't shrink the DVD-9 just for the extras. There are extras on the DVD-5 but shrinking the whole DVD-9 won't give you very good results. The bitrate for the movie would be down to about 3200kbps (maybe even less) in order to keep the extras, which isn't very good

I haven't posted in a while because I haven't felt like I had anything to contribute. I am waiting for the NTSC DVD-9, and if I need to get any new stuff to help PIF the thing, I will. This is looking fantastic, ady. It's kind of hard waiting it out while everyone else gushes about the great stuff in this edit, but I'll tough it out. Hang in there during the distribution process. Well, I guess what I'm trying to say is...

I just wanted to let you know that we're all counting on you. Good luck.

I am in shock as to what just happened to me. I'm not familiar with a.b.starwars so I did a google search. I found a usernet page and registered, turned out it routed me to a site that contains not kiddie porn exactly, but 8 year old girls posing in a "sexy" way. I am disturbed and creeped out.

Anyway, how do I get to a.b.starwars? Is there a simple free way? Do I have to go into a news group do I wait for a torrent?

After downloading from news groups, could someone seed a torrent? I will keep on seeding after I download the torrent.
Author

Yes of course - I seeded the Xvid version as soon as I got that and will do the same here

From memory though it took most of the day to get hold of the Xvid version so it will be a while b4 the DVD version is up, down and then back up again. If that makes sense!

(In fact looking at it, Ady has been uploading for 3 hours and we're at 1.12GB, so it will take him most of the day for the whole DVD to be up.)

Fuser, I know it will take a while, of course it will. Thx, I forgot who first seeded the Xvid!
