Wow. So some of the damage can be undone.

I'm not so sure that tey damaged the film during de-interlacing (although if it wasn't interlaced in the first place it'd be a lot better) but they only did half a job. From my understanding, you can de-interlace slowly and with high quality, or quickly and do post processing (like EEDI2) for decent results.

What is the ringing? Is that like edge enhancement and was it on the laserdiscs. As for the dirt removal, are you doing spot correction?

Notice around the top of the right helmet in the elevator pic there is a white line above the helmet that follows the contour of the helmet. That's what I'm referring to as ringing. I am doing some very limited spot removal (so fast moving stars don't get lost).

I think the face of the rebel trooper looks too pink. As you know, I tweaked the hue slightly towards the yellow in my version.

I think your settings for fft3dfilter are too strong; the reduced grain makes the picture look a little too soft.

Bear in mind this is all subjective...

Agreed. Mine looks too pink. I think yours is a little too orange though. Somewhere inbetween maybe?
Agreed. The zoomed in screencaps convinced me. I'm going to back that off a bit.
It is subjective, that's why I need more opinions other than just mine. Or at least you've convinced me of what I already suspected!

BTW, I found a sizing error in the script. I will update now.
