i love the idea of showing the drop ships deploying the AT-AT's

The problem here is that the reveal of the AT-ATs is perfect as it is - the distant thudding, followed by the visible dots on the horizon, then the fuzzy binocular view - it builds up an incredible anticipation. A fancy CG rendering of transport ships dropping them off would destroy all of that tension.

I kind of felt the same way about the new Death Star reveal in Star Wars Revisited, well-realised as it was - it would be a shame if the natural urge to 'see more' came at the expense of more classic suspenseful moments. Just my 2 cents.
