http://www.angelfire.com/mt/muppetdanny/trade2.htm

He has the Muppets go to hollywood, the john dever special, and a muppet family xmas cut and uncut.

Thanks! Does this guy want something in trade? What does he want?

Mostly muppet and cartoon stuff. BUT he now has retail DVD's wanted list he will trade for. Some things copies are ok.

No idea as to the quality, but it wouldn't take much to be better than mine.

This is up now and is of very good quality. Easily worth a DL. Only downside is that it's 700 MB, so there's some compression, but it looked good on my basic monitor at full screen size.

And, most importantly, it's COMPLETE. (Except for the commercial with Kermit and Fozzie, which isn't really part of the show anyway, but I liked it.)

I've never heard of 3/4 of that stuff!

Not sure what version I have but it does have Kermit in the beginning but according to the link above, I do not have
A couple lines of dialogue after Ma hands Gretchen Fox her laundry:
Ma: ...you'd fall off the dock.
Emmet: Way to go, Ma!

I don't have the other stuff listed either.I went through the video and see none of that.Perhaps I have Version 2 Edit, 1980's (released by Columbia/TriStar) ?

"Look at the birds up in the trees"
That was always my favorite line in the movie as a kid.

My video is small though.Got it mailed to me from my aunt who got it on P2P
It's .mpg video and 321 x 240 ( small I know...sucks ) with runtime of 50:28 which includes all end credits.

I just put the VHS release with Kermit intro into a digital format.

Hello,
I am trying to find a copy of Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas for my husband for our 1 year wedding anniversary.
He talks about the version his parents taped off of HBO - the DVD version is "missing" some things according to him, namely Kermit, and the comment that Ma makes to the character on the river.?
Does anyone know about this?
Can anyone point me to where I can get a copy for him? It has alot of sentimental value for him - his late sister and him used to watch it every Christmas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You can email me at hyperjma@gmail.com
Thanks!

Hyper, you may want to actually read the threads before posting in them. You're asking for a copy of a film that we've all been looking for, treasures like this are why this place is here. Every post in this thread (excluding mine) has been made with the specific purpose of restoring the original classic and making it freely available to the public. Try trolling and reading, hopefully the powers that be will come together and make it happen. Oh and welcome to the board.

I JUST found my tape of Emmet Otter that I taped off of HBO in the mid-1980s. It's in SLP, (as I figured) but it looks remarkably good. Unfortunately- I accidently taped over the last few minutes of it at some point, long ago.

I also have a complete tape of the Nick version, (which is SP and hi-fi sound), but I noticed that there is a transition that is missing from the Nick version (because of the 1 commercial fade-in/out) that is present on the HBO version.

I think it's worthwhile (if possible) to edit in the transition from the HBO version into the Nick version, as the Nick fade-out is a bit clunky.

I don't know if anyone is still working on this, but I'd be happy to provide both of these versions, if you still need them.

I could try to cut them together?

This movie means a lot to *me* too.

If you want to do it- that would be great. I don't have a DVD burner on my computer, and I don't have any digital-editing experience, anyhow.

I'll send you a PM.

This has already been edited and put together by Philfrog over at FanEdit.org in a 30th anniversary release. It should be released into the wild next week once uploaders get their copies.

That's great, except that I can't download any of that stuff and even if I could, I don't have a DVD burner in my computer.

I'm so excited by this lol! I didn't know any of this and I vaguely remember watching it years ago... and come to think of it... we taped it too I think... I could check but it sounds like you guys have found most everything...

I thought I was the only one who knew about this movie! I show it to all my friends at christmas and they look at me like they're crazy...

My sister in law saw it and was like "you must be your brothers brother because only you all would have seen that!"

I Got it on DVD when I found it and it has these HILARIOUS outtakes... lol... I love it...

I've actually been tempted to rip the songs from this and create an album of it because I've never seen one before... and I like the songs...

I haven't yet found the transition, but as soon as I find it...

I also set aside the short HBO in Space

Don't you just LOVE the HBO in space! LOL!

The transition is after the scene when the Riverbottom boys go past the treehouse on their snowmobiles and just after Emmet and Wendall stick their heads out of the window and Wendall says "what was that all about?"

I hope the materials I sent you are OK. I noticed as I was making the DVD-R dubs that the older (HBO) tape has some "wavyness" at the top of the screen in most shots. Since you need only a second or two of footage from that version, though, it should be alright. Good luck!

That HBO promo takes me back in time more than anything else can! What I wouldn't do for a nice HD copy of that!

Yeah, I associate that HBO intro and it's accompanying music with the HBO airings of Star Wars that I watched so many times in the early '80s (sort of like we so closely associate the extended 20th Century Fox theme with the film).

Do you also remember the extended version of that intro with the miniature town? (I think they saved it mostly for the feature presentations at night). I wish I had a recording of that, but I don't think I do. HBO used to run a featurette all the time about the creation of the miniature set for that intro.

Too bad HBO doesn't use it anymore.

Yes! I remember the "out the window" version. I think they dropped that version at some point because the people in it started to look dated, so they added the smoke in the foreground at the beginning instead.

Here's the featurette I was talking about:

Found the cut. For the amount of time that's cut it oughtn't be too noticeable.

I wonder if anyone has the knowhow to recreate that HBO bumper in 480p...

Hmm, I'm not sure I've ever seen the out the window variant.

I can say I have a substantial amount of old VHS tapes that were recorded from HBO over the years.
If I can find this I will rip it.
Seems like an odd request, but what the hey.
