Can somebody re-up the destruction of Alderan bonus clip? Pretty please? Somehow I missed it the first go-around.

Also, Ady, everyday I don't have the NTSC DVD-5 is another day in pure agony. You're beautiful, man.

One person noticed that Beru Lars' voice was different from what he was used to.

I noticed there something different with her voice too, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it, somehow it seemed more natural to the original american over-dub even though it was the same?

It's one of the documented changes to this edit. Look on the front page under "Audio".

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

I too would be very interested in seeing that scene. Is there still a live link anywhere?

Thanks,
I didn't remember catching it the first time around, I guess my attention was more focussed on the visual changes.

MattMahdi, I'm intrigued - what kind of class do you teach where the subject matter is alternate versions of Star Wars?

I'm using the original trilogy, and parts of the prequels (especially "The Phantom Menace" (for its cultural significance) and "Revenge of the Sith") to explore ideas of philosophy, theology, and storytelling in this world that Lucas created. That I'm using alternate versions, where possible, is to maintain a sense of surprise and newness even in those students who can quote every line of the movies. Today we're using the second edition of Wookie Groomer's "The Empire Strikes Back" split-screen so we can see the the changes wrought in the special edition and the DVD.

Sadly it's just a limited E-Term class. After this week, it's back to teaching mathematics. Not that math is a bad thing at all, but I have to re-submerge my inner geek.

This is of course only a temp. You can't see a lot of the detail in this but I did more then just "cut and paste". But you get the idea.

Thanks again to OBtwosy for the dvd logos

O_O Wow. That has to be the BEST of all the DVD covers I've seen here. And some of the others were impressive, mind!

A question regarding the DVD covers, though, to those in the know: is there going to be a 'finalist' DVD cover that is gonna be the one DVD cover used for all these 'Revisited' DVDs, or is everyone going to be able to pick their own preferred DVD cover from those available? I would like to know, please.

Wow focuspuller, what a great cover! I was actually considering something similar when I made mine, but I decided to save that poster with R2 and 3PO for when ady does ROTJ.

But again, nicely done!

EDIT:
By the way, I took whoever-it-was's suggestion (regarding my cover), and started work on a sort of image to go along the spines (assuming that ady does ESB and ROTJ). Thanks to whoever-it-was.

You do realize that nobody will be printing out the cover for you, right? So you can print out anything you want, without regulations or limitations imposed.

However, the "official" cover will be the one Adywan creates using the painting he is currently creating. Yes, that's right. He has commissioned himself to paint a cover for his edit.

Thank you darling. I still have to do the back but I like how it came out. Since everything that happens in ANH revolved around the droids, it's logical that they should be featured prominently on the cover. And frankly, like the special editions themselves I didn't think the new posters where as good as they could have been. And of course the droids always look so iconic. I like OBtwosy's cover so far. An oldy but a goody is I believe the expression.

Adywan, this is of course your show so I have a question. Would You rather the rest of us take a step back since you're doing the "offical cover" for the release?

And I'm dying to see more of yours. Also, I think it was me who suggested the spine image thing.

You're right, I think it was u with all the suggestions, thanks. In regards to that, I couldn't find a place that the text "revisited" would look good on (at least to my eyes). I do however like the image on all three spines idea, and as I said, have come up with something for that. I'd like to put up another preview, but the imandix images are so small (therefore, it wouldn't look that different if u couldn't see it to begin with). Do I have to buy imandix pro for higher res images?
Author

I dunno about Imandix, but maybe you could put Revisited under STAR WARS instead of A New Hope, which I think is there right now. Then again, A New Hope could be part of the source image ify ou used the poster I'm thinking of, so painting that out would be tough.

No, I put a new hope there myself. I like it because the point (or part of the point) of ady's edit was to better tie the saga together, and considering that I'm going to do covers for his other projects (hopefully), just calling it star wars doesn't really work. Right? Also, I sort of fabricated the poster art from two different ones (I'm sort of proud).
Author
Time
And proud you should be, I think it looks great.

Wow - not seen those Alderaan destruction tests before! I had guessed that the whole 'JarJar' thing was done in a jokey manner, but not at all - it really adds impact to see characters from the trilogy turning to see the impending disaster. Not really needed in the final cut of course, but very nicely done anyway!

There will be an official cover but i like choice so i will be including fan made covers in the DVD-Rom folder of the DVD's so the more covers i can include, the better.
I can't show you a preview of my cover yet because i just haven't had the time to start it yet. The DVD's are taking a lot longer to create than i had originally though. For anyone that is creating a cover for this project and want it included on the DVd then you will have to get the covers to me by February 28th at the latest. Yes i know that means that there won't be any version of the DVD's available until then but there is a lot of work to be done and i'm ironing out a few bugs. I want this to be perfect before i release it because there won't be a version 2
