Star Wars Error: Episode IV

Author
Time
Anyone else notice that during the attack on the Death Star, when Luke is pursued by a TIE Fighter, the rebel base says, "Red Six can you see Red Five?"

..However, Jek Porkins is Red 6, who was already killed previously due to a ship malfunction or what have you.

Tsk tsk George.

Beware, though, movie-mistakes.com has so many ads all over it that it's become a bit pathetic. Great site, just too many ads. I actually helped him with posting some of his errors. He fell so far behind one time he recruited help, so I was the "admin for a day" on one movie... Reign of Fire.

I know, I know, you all are gonna feel sorry for me. But I still liked the movie. Fun cheesy crap but with great dragon CGI.

I liked it. Save for the ending which was a bit dull.

A movie in dire need of a director's cut.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I wonder if one is in the works. I'd expect that film would have all kinds of cut footage.

That was one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Very biblical in a sense because of the oral tradition that the Bible once had. Now this ragtag bunch is relying on the same means because books and movies and TV are either scarce or nonexistent.

Also very evocative of Native American storytelling. Check out Brother Bear for another example.

I found Reign Of Fire quite disappointing!

On 1st viewing I hated it!

Didn't help that on the UK poster there were loads of attack choppers taking on hordes of scary dragons & in the final movie there was one chopper & usually one dragon on screen at a time!

& then i read that the budget was SEVERLY cut after production had started & Rob Bowman had indeed intended for lots of dragons versus chopper fights & could possibly have that in the sequel, so i gave it another look, not judging it too harshly & found it reasonably entertaining

I remember finding some timeline discrepancy. Something about how the movie is listed as being "modern day" on the poster, but is actually like the year 2020 in the movie. I can't remember exactly what it was now that it's been well over a year since I've seen it.

well, even if it were 2020, then it would still be modern, buildings from 1984 dont differ from those that we have two, except the occasional exception.

No, I don't mean the use of the word "modern". I mean that they claim a year or some such like that. And then the movie is actually further on in the future.

Looking at movie-mistakes.com is helping to remind me somewhat. It's not the poster. The trailer talks about how in 2008, the dragons will attack and mankind will begin their resistance or something along those lines. Leading viewers to believe that the movie takes place in 2008. And they show the kid discovering the egg in the mines. However they don't tell you that this kid is the younger version of Christian Bales' character. Another 12 years pass before the action of the story takes place. The movie takes place in 2020. That's what it was. And to top that off, a feature on the DVD talks about the movie taking place in 2084. I think they need to get their stories straight.
