My Gosh, you guys take stuff way too seriously. I didn't mean it in an angry tone, more of a joking one!

Dude, a page or two ago someone posted a link to an image of George's cameo. Look for it and you'll have an answer.

WOW! That was cool. Thanks to forum member Killbot for sending me a copy.

Highlights for me (I'm sure I'm forgetting something):
- The Mos Eisley de-slapstick-ification. Sequences like this show that there *was* potential for the SE to be an enjoyable alternate viewing experience without all the cringing and/or eyeball rolling.
- The cantina creature enhancements. Subtle yet so effective.
- The intensified Ben/Vader duel. Whether or not the music had been added, this is still much more "active" and exciting than the original.
- The Death Star schematics in the rebel briefing. In reading that this was to be redone, I imagined it might stick out like a sore thumb. Not the case at all.
- The Death Star battle, including the destruction as the station was in the process of firing. This definitely increased the "whew!" factor.

Sure, maybe some changes didn't work so well in my opinion. And maybe there were tiny parts excised that I missed seeing. But it was certainly interesting seeing things play out a bit differently. If I want that which is familiar and "comfortable", I'll watch the GOUT. There was plenty to see and enjoy here.

This is Adywan's edit, he did what he wanted to do, and it was fun to watch!

Well done, Adywan! Thanks a million for the time you invested in this project.

Post Script: My daugther noticed the end credits were different as well, what with all the OT.com folks listed. When I pointed out my "name", which she had never heard of, she said, "That's cool. You're sort of in the credits for Star Wars." Heh.

He posted an image of one the guys lined up on each side of the door in the Yavin medals presentation. I didn't think the guy looked like Lucas, 70s, or more current. I zoomed in on the DVD too.

I checked the Yavin doorway shot and it looks like someone else was changed on the other side of the stairs. One closest to the camera on the left.

if you can squint, you see the credits includes "Sir Alec Guinness" (knighted in 1959)
and includes "with James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader"

a. because I wanted to make those changes
b. to further reassure folks that this is my doing - not borrowed

OBtwosy, love your cover man. I've always had a penchant for the original theatrical posters myself. One quick question, though, if I may: should you perhaps rework the spine to include "A New Hope?" I suggest this only because I'm not sure how similar covers for ESB and ROTJ would look standing next to each other (aside from the roman numerals at the bottom).

Refresh my memory: Does Ady's opening crawl say "Episode IV: A New Hope"? I honestly can't remember. I'm guessing it does, just curious.

well there are 2 changed on the left. The one closest to the camera on the left is a very good friend of mine and on the right of him is me.

Well the image was on a link so anyone that didn't want to know where he was didn't have to know about it but it looks like you have just given it away now.

thanks!
I suppose it could, although I like that it doesn't.
Instead of replacing my EP IV DVD with Ady's, I'm sitting them next to each other on my shelf...
I know... I know... then I have two EP IV's next to each other. But I also have a II.V (ADM's "Clone Wars"), a IV.V ("Holiday Special Re-Edit") and a IV.? ("Troops"/"Pink Five... so far")
but anyone can always re-photoshop that section pretty easily.

I tried to avoid this exact scenario using a link so as not to become a PM'ing clearinghouse.

@sevb32 - perhaps you could have just said - "I don't think that's him."

So, is there a torrent of this yet? Or is it still just a PIF thing.

Agreed. I hadn't found him yet and was looking forward to watching it again so I could hunt. SevB32, you really should think about being more considerate to the other board members.

The DVD has not yet been released. When it is, both options (plus newsgroups, Rapidshare, etc.) will be made available at some point.

How was I intentinally giving something away when I didn't even think it was him? Put the rulers away!

it probably wasn't intentional, but because you did not know for certain, it was akin to saying, "I've heard there's a surprise in Empire Strikes Back - but it can't be that Vader is Luke's father - that's just too obvious. It's gotta be something else"

or more lowbrow - "Waldo can't be that guy in the striped shirt with glasses in the bottom left hand corner behind the mummy - it doesn't look like Waldo to me"

my point is purposefully overstated, but the issue is this: because you weren't certain it was NOT Lucas, you should have refrained from mentioning the specific scene.

What is your problem anyway? Maybe you could turn down the attitude a little?

Hi all! I'm a new member. This seems like a nice and friendly place. I joined after hearing wonderful things about adywan's star wars revisited and got really curious to se it myself.

Unfortunately I know nothing about how to work torrents and wanted to know what other alternatives there is to view his work. Like maybe a free download site where it's uploaded? Like I said, I'm very incompetent when it comes to these things, so the simpler the better

Thanks in advance
