Not quite. From what little research I did, Smith studied Scientology with Cruise but decided that it wasn't totally for him. He said that it had a lot of nice ideas, but that he ultimately doesn't believe that any one religion has gotten everything right.
I get the feeling the Smith doesn't support any one religion exclusively. In fact, he doesn't seem to like any organized religion at all.
