The sound you hear is me hitting the wall.

I have wanted to use the 10th Anniversary poster for a cover, but I can't seem to get it to look balanced no matter how I crop it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I must admit I am actually very excited to see this now Ady.I dont normally get too psyched about these projects but this really does look the bees knees man.I will seed the torrent as long as I can!!!!

It would be nice if could get an exact release date, Ady said almost two weeks ago that it would be a couple of weeks, so any day now if his word holds true.

It would be nice if you could be patient and just wait it out with us. He's been talking about setting up the dvd structure so it shouldn't be too far away.

If memory serves he also said that the remaining shots were going to take a while due to complexity and other encoding matters. Ady has spent a long time getting this right and should take the time to get it done right.

I'm not familiar with the 10th anniversary poster; do you have a flat picture of your DVD cover so we can better see the balance as it is now?

Sluggo, have you tried changing the colour of the background to black, or maybe a starfiled? I think it may be the white surround that is throwing things out. Just an idea.

So is another two weeks about when it will happen, or should we say another month? Which is more a possiblility?

I know I should be patient, It just seems like the finish line keeps moving further out as we get closer to it

And I am dying to see the new rebel briefing (Death star plans scene).

Well, one long-running obstacle to Ady finishing the edit itself just got cleared. ...though I don't know what that means as far as how long it will take for all the work that is left to get done.

I notice that you have now edited this post since you first replied. I have to say your attitude pissed me off a bit. I am working as fast as i can, while not too fast that i make mistakes. i have had no sleep for 3 days just to get the last few things finished and i was really not in the mood for your impatience and quite bad attitude towards me. Why be so sarcastic about how long it's now going to take to complete? as i replied originally, i did say that hopefully it would be 2 weeks, but gave no guarantee. also if you looked at the date that i actually posted that it was 3rd January, and by my calculations the 2 weeks isn't up until the 17th, so i still have 1 day to go. I'm just one guy working on this edit so please just cut me some slack. it will be ready when i have checked and double checked everything and feel happy enough with it to release it.

Anyway. the video & audio side of things is now complete. I'm about 60% complete with the menus, all chapter markers are in place, both subtitle tracks are complete. I'm about to render the DVD-5 & DVD-9 PAL & NTSC MPEG's, which will take a couple of days to complete. Once the DVD-9 Pal is rendered i will be doing the XVID conversion. This is all going to take about 5 days to finish. The second the XVID is complete and checked then it will be uploaded to usenet, along with the PAL DVD-5 ( the DVD-5 NTSC will take longer because i have to rebuild the DVD using NTSC material and resynch the subtitles. I will announce the EXACT release dates as soon as i can.

Well, I'm off to get some sleep now. I will get right back to work as soon as i wake up ( probably just in time for the 35th anniversary if just how tired i feel right now is anything to go by. )

Seriously, for the love of George, Ady is doing this out of his love for the films and is taking the time needed to finally get the SEs right. What the #%^* does it matter if it's next week, next month, or even next year?!? We are all excited about this, but cut the guy some slack!!!!

I've recently discovered this website from a link I found in TF.N and I've been reading this thread over the last several days. I'm really impressed with all of the work Adywan put into this edit. One the problems I've had with the two trilogies is the difference in the special FX between the two. After watching some of the scenes, it has made a huge difference for me. I would like to add my name to the list to receive a copy of this DVD. I've read the forum rules & FAQs. Since I am a new member here, please let me know if there is anything else I need to know or do, in order to add my name to the list. Thanks.

I'm dying to see the scene too, but I find it hard to side with you given how impatient you're being. You should be glad good ol' Ady is pushing the release further back, because it means he ain't cutting any corners just to get this out on time! If Ady wants us to wait, it's because he wants the final product to be as good as he can get it.
