I was watching the updates on the keynote live to see what was coming up. The Macbook Air looks pretty cool. Whats everyone else's thoughts on it? If it didn't cost so much I might want one. I'm saving up for a Macbook at the moment.

I WATCHED IT TOO. YEAH, THE MAC BOOK AIR IS DEFINITELY SWEET. I WISH IT WERE RIGHT FOR REPLACING MY MAC MINI, BUT IT'S NOT. I'LL STILL GET THE LATEST G5 iMAC. MAYBE NEXT YEAR I'LL GET A LAPTOP. THE ONLY THING THAT I WOULD REALLY USE A LAPTOP FOR WHILE OUT AND ABOUT IS TO SURF THE INTERNET. I CAN DO THAT WITH AN iPOD TOUCH WHICH I PLAN ON GETTING AT THE SAME TIME I GET MY NEW MAC.

Well, I can see myself going Mac from now on, honestly. In another couple of years I'll look into an Apple laptop.

Anything that would be good with a Macbook. Just something you'd recommend. Mostly a protective sleeve. By the way I get an educational discount.

Ok, but I might look for something more like a shell.
The Air doesn't seem to be getting good reception on Digg about the Replaceable battery, Optical drive, and the price. But hey maybe it will be better the second time around.

I REMEMBER THE FIRST MAC/pc DEBATE ON HERE. THERE WERE THREE OF US THAT WERE MAC USERS AT THE TIME. NOW, THERE ARE SEVERAL OF US ON HERE. HELL, SOME OF THE DIEHARD pc PEOPLE THAT BASHED MACS BACK IN THE DAY ARE NOW HARDCORE SUPPORTERS OF MACS. IT'S FUNNY HOW THINGS CHANGE.

Yes I think that feature sounds pretty damn good. I love the light hearted nature of the commercial. I hope some more good stuff is revealed at Macworld but then again you can't have an Ipod or Iphone every year. Also I'm getting paid tomorrow I should have about $500. I need about $1200 to buy it . I really want something I can take around with me and the only game I'd want to play is WoW and with the window emulation it looks like I might be able to play some games on Steam.

I can't remember if I was one of those Mac supporters in that old debate, but I certainly am one now. Being able to run OS X and Windows on the same system is just awesome. There are still a lot of things I wish were different about the Mac, but I can't really complain very much.

Yeah, that is whats attracting me too. There are just things that Windows can do that OS X can't, Windows Specific programs I can't live without and all. Anyways, when the funds seem good, I'm gonna dive in to a Macbook Pro 15.4".

Even with all the great things Mac software can do with video, I still can't live without my VirtualDub/AviSynth and all the great scripts that are out there. Still, I'll probably never edit a film on a PC again.

As far as the Macbook Air goes, I found it interesting that it doesn't come with a firewire port. I guess if it was only going to have one port, the USB 2.0 would be the way to go. But it still would have been cool to see a FW800 on there. Personally, I've never really been a fan of portable electronics (iPod aside), but if I was ever in the market for a laptop, I'd want to get something like this.
