I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with Ponda Baba's (or Walrusman as I grew up calling him) hand in the severed arm shot. The temp footage alone that you shared with us was amazing.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product Ady!

Wow... It's almost finished... (If I seem unenthused, I'm just stunned is all.)

When all is said and done, I'd love to have a copy of this for my little DVD library.

Can't wait to see those last two shots. Well, I mean I can wait for them, but I'm just excited to see them. Of course, I would like for them to stay a surprise until the DVD is in my DVD drive.

Good luck on these last two shots, Adywan! May the Force be with you in this endeavour.

A newby here!
Let me introduce myself,..I'm Jason Collier, Winner of Access Hollywood's Ultimate Star Wars Fan Contest. I've been a fan of Star Wars All my life and all I can say is,..
WOW,..I am so excited for this edit. I caught the Death Star Battle Footage & the trailers on YouTube. Could someone post any other links to any of the other released footage so far,..preferably from Rapidshare.
I am sure I will NEVER watch the original versions again after I get this version.
I have a few questions and a comment or two:

1. Any thoughts of a REVISITED Empire or Jedi?

2. Does this project have anything to do with this one:
STARWARS LEGACY
If not,..what ever happened to starwarslegacy?!?!?

3.I have access to some DVD burning towers,..I can copy 17 dvd at a time and would be willing to help getthis thing copied!

4. I hope you are going to have a commentary track on how you did all you have done to the movie.

That starwarslegacy.com site hasn't been updated in ages, but Ady has done some of the same things the guy on there did. The big difference is that Ady kept most of the SE editions and added some of his own, while that guy wanted only to preserve the original versions, he only fixed some matte lines and color issues.

Ady has plans on doing ESB and ROTJ as well.

And I cannot wait for Ady's ESB and ROTJ EDITIONS!

Well i have just begun to create the DVD scructure. I have the chapter markers set and the subtitle track finished. Work has started on the menus now. I still have the 2 shots left to complete but i am still able to work on the DVD with a quick render i did yesterday so i can just replace that with the finished one when needed. I hit a snag with the encoding though. i re3ndered the complete movie using CCE and it looked great apart from the briefing room scene. It just didn't like the red graphics and seem to separate the colours slightly which caused a flickering effect when viewed on the TV. I've now changed to Procoder 3 for the rendering and this problem has gone away and the results are as good, if not better, than CCE but with a fraction of the rendering time. Even the DVD-5 test looks great on the TV. I've also redone the audio mix slightly too. I really didn't like the way that John Williams music had been pushed into the background for the sake of soundFX and i hadn't restored the music enough to my liking in my original mix in a couple of places so that needed to be redone. Hopefully it won't be too long to wait now. Just have to finish Ponda baba's hand replacement still, which is taking longer than i had hoped and i have almost all the frames needed for the TIE approach. Nearly there

Rock on, Ady. We're all cheering for you as it enters the home stretch.

Are you still planning to release divx/xvid then DVD5 then DVD9?

I can definitely PIF DVD5 in OZ - but NOT DVD9

So is anyone doing anything special to get ready for this release. There is the possibility of watching the prequels or just episode III first then Ady's episode IV. You could also re watch the 2004 DVD release one last time. Anyone else have any ideas.

I am thinking of a ceremonial microwaving of my 2004 ANH DVD.

Episode III then Ady's Episode IV back to back sounds good, but only after I watch it first by itself to indulge my senses in the feast that Ady prepared.

Well I'm planning on having hell of a lot of alcohol while i sit down and watch the finished edit, apart from that I'm not doing much.

That would be fun to see. How about videoing it for us all to see?

The XVID & the PAL DVD-5 will be released at the same time. the others will be some time after.

Well the main subtitle track is complete and i have added a second subtitle track that lists hell of a lot of the fixes. I've left some out because it would just get too tedious listing each shot in the Death Star battle. This track will be on all DVD versions

The barebones DVd will likely just have static menus. i'll leave the better ones for the DVD-9 due to bitrate.

I have decided that i won't be doing a special features disc, well not until the complete trilogy is finished. Just too much work to do straight after this edit. i need a break. Almost there....

I am so happy this is almost done. I have been doing my bimonthly Star Wars binge, and I am PUMPED to see this more than I was to go to CIII or CIV

Yeah, take a well deserved break. Special features can wait.

How about another MSN 'Q and A' session scheduled at some point after release?

Almost there! Cant wait - there isnt any film coming out this year that I@m looking forward to more than the Adywan edit. Love the idea of burning the 2004 DVDs too - but I traded mine in for a videogame instead
Maybe I'll find a screengrab of Greedo shooting first and vomit all over it.

You dont want me to video that though

I'll be keeping my 2004 dvd so I can run it back to back with Adywan's version to try and spot all the differences. Now that I think about it, I could turn it into a game... Make your family/friends watch the same scene from both versions and whoever finds the most changes wins...
Or would that be too sad?

I'll be keeping my 2004 DVD mainly for the commentary and the occasional amusement of listening to Darth Vader speak French. (although Irvin Kershner's babbling on ESB is infinitely more fun to listen to than anything Lucas has to say )

However, as far as just watching the movie, Adywan's edit seems like it will be the definitive version. (and hopefully soon I can replace my GOUT with the X0 version)

I'll be keeping my 2004 DVD's because I LIKE THEM! Also Ben Burtt signed them.... from his home. I like them alot.

Maybe there will be a WookieeGroomer style "split screen" version done with the 2004's and Adywan's eventual release?

Hey Ady... just curious on the specs for the xvid. What will the fps, resolution, and encode rate be?
