Huh? SMW2 isn't as good as the first, but it's still a great game and well worth playing. I missed the SNES version, but when it came to GBA, it never left my system for a solid month.

Perhaps I have never given it enough of a chance. I always just found it such a departure from the usual formula (which isn't always a bad thing) that I never felt like I was actually playing a Mario game. And every time you loose the dumb baby off your back it is such an annoyance. I have played through a few levels of it, but I just really never enjoyed it at all.

One non-major Mario game that I thought was a lot of fun and incredibly well done was Super Mario RPG. I am not too big of a fan of turned based RPGs, but I had no problem putting up with it for that game. I loved being able to go around the Mushroom kingdom and other worlds and talk to everybody. The villiages and kingdoms in that game really had a very quaint design to them, it turned what has always been a 2D world that we know very little about into a vast 3D fantasy world wide open for exploration.
