How is this unlike the other documentaries that have come before? Every documentary on SW fans, that I know of, has been done by SW fans as well. Sure, they usually end up being gush fests, but I think that's just because the ones like us (OT.com) don't go to the shows where the documentarians are at. So the only difference here is that you're going to include the whiners as well as the gushers. *shrug*

I really doubt this will have any effect on Lucas or push him to "make his case". The man simply doesn't care. He has said numerous times "This is my definitive vision". Sure, that keeps changing, but no amount of "Lucas, why did you change this?!" is going to make him do anything. More likely, this will just make him keep seeing this community as a bunch of whiners instead of preservationists.

IMO, Lucas simply cannot be counted in the same league as Spielberg, Ridley Scott, or any other director that wants to release their own definitive version as well as the original in a proper release. What the fans really need to do is stop hanging on his every word and stop buying up all his crap. Once he's unable to sell anything with the SW name on it, only then will he get the hint. Until that happens though, he's going to keep going with business as usual.
