That's a great question. Here's the thing: on the one hand, I've been a SW fan for 30 years, and, on the other hand, I'm a documentary filmmaker. As a SW fan, I believe that a film like this one can help resolve some of the differences between Lucasfilm and the fans. The antagonistic nature of the title is more tongue-in-cheek than anything, and, far from generating more antagonism, the purpose of this doc is to create a single, focused platform for the fans to express their needs and frustrations so that they may be heard, and for George Lucas, hopefully, to finally make a case for some of the things he's done that have been so heavily criticized. As a documentarian, I've been compelled for many years to create a lasting homage to this conflicted fan culture I love so much, and one that I've been a part of for most of my life. In my opinion, SW fans enjoy a very different relationship with SW and George Lucas than Star Trek fans have with Gene Roddenberry. SW fans have so much to complain about, and yet, they remain SW fans. Why is that? I think that's a very unique phenomenon, and I believe that this feature doc will shed new light on that question. So... in a nutshell... I think the fact that I'm a SW fan myself is key here, because if I weren't, this film would probably come across as a bunch of whining fan boys bitching and moaning about George Lucas and SW, and who really cares about that? Because I'm a SW fan, I'll make sure that our love for the franchise truly comes across, along with our genuine concerns and complaints. This unique perspective, I hope, will also eventually compel Lucasfilm to participate. At least, we're working on it! BTW... we just started a blog on our MySpace page (myspace.com/peoplevsgeorge), and I'd like to encourage you to participate there as well. Things are a little slow now because of the holidays, but I'll be sure to add a number of 'hot topics' in the new year, so be sure to check it often and become our friends, as I'd love to hear from you there as well. These forums are one of the best ways for me to really understand what the fans want us to accomplish with this doc, and, as I've said many times, this doc is not only for, but also by the fans, so everything you write truly matters to me.

Happy New Year!
