Awesome Ady - what an amazing amount of work you have put into this. And thanks for posting! I came here just to look if you'd left an Xmas surprise!

Ady,

Thanx for the codec clue. That did the trick. Awesome use of extra music in the DS battle. Great to hear the original Krayt Dragon call once again. Merry Christmas, peace to all.

Ady,

One word...... WOW!

Oh.My.Sweet.Lord.

Between these two most recent clips, and the previous clip of the Falcon's escape from Mos Eisley, I think I've died and gone to Star Wars heaven.

What a Christmas stocking goodie! Thanks, Adywan. I cannot wait to see the finished product( and will be very willing to burn DVD-5s and 9s until the cows come home for whoever wants them).

Awesome as usual, Ady. Merry Christmas and thanks again for all your efforts.

A Christmas miracle as far as I'm concerned! Brilliant, just brilliant. Truly like watching it again, for the first time.

Merry Christmas one and all. I trust you've all had a nice day.

Amazing...
I love how natural Beru sounds!

But the ESB music at the beginning of the DS battle... I don't know, I feels sort of out of place.
It's a great shot, but the music just doesn't work (imho). Was there really no way to reuse a part of the original music?

Hi, I just joined the forum to give some feedback on this project. It is, in a word: AMAZING. DLed all the clips I could find and was blown away. The level of professionalism is astounding. I have been giving the links out to people to get them to check it out. Can't wait to get my hands on this. Most of the alterations I agree with, but there are a few that I don't. I know it's too late to be giving feedback that could effect change, but I feel the need to say it anyway...

3PO's line about the Princess on the Tantive IV actually makes sense to me. He would have heard about her just through rumors and stuff, so although he hadn't met her, or seen her image since ROTS, he'd still know of her. It's a minor complaint, though...nothing major.

There are also a few things that I always wanted to see added to the movie...

1: In the Tantive IV vs Star Destroyer scene, I think it would have been cool if there were TIEs and X-Wings (or Y-Wings) dogfighting in the sky. I just think it makes sense for a cruiser to have an escort wing of fighters, and the SD would launch it's own fighters to help soften up the cruiser and take care of it's escorts.

2: I wanted to add the Imperial March into the scene where Vader first enters the Tantive IV, and also when he orders the two TIE pilots to come with him later in the movie, and maybe elsewhere. Just to give the saga a consistency.

I think that's all I got. Again, amazing work, really looking forward to the finished product.

Great clips, Adywan!

The Meeting Obi-Wan clip was so seemless, I really didn't notice anything new apart from the view in Luke's macrobinoculars.

The DS Battle clip was action packed with awesomey goodness.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

A small Christmas prezzie for you all. Here's 2 new clips iclusing a sneak peak at the new footage from the Death Star battle. The clips are both MPeg2 with AC3 5.1 surround from the final mix. Clip 1 is pretty low bitrate due to size constraints but the Death Star battle clip has got a slightly higher bitrate but not as high as the final render will be. Plus in the battle sequence there are a few unfinished shots.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!!!

Looks great. I'm not hearing anything, though. Is there a patch for Windows Media Player or another program I should use? Great work Adywan, as usual!

well the clips have AC3 audio so you might need the codec. try googling "ac3 codec". i'm pretty sure there are free ones available.

Or you could try using Vlcmedia player here:

VLC MEDIA PLAYER

Ah, pity the computer I'm on now has a faulty soundcard... but thanks for posting more clips!

Will mirrors of these be posted?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, OT.com!

Ah, I see the two clips have been posted on Youtube. I presume they're compressed even more then...

Ady:

First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work and attention to detail. You are amazing.

Next, I beg you to consider removing one shot from the film. This one...

The reason I don't like it is because the crane up on steroids is completely unrealistic and doesn't belong in the film.

But the tail end of the shot, once the crane up is complete, this part of the shot...

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y132/jojo12345/vlcsnap-194379.png

... could be slowed down and used to replace this shot...

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y132/jojo12345/vlcsnap-194012.png

It could easily be Ben and Luke's POV from atop the cliff.

Just a request. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Master ObiSwan - Ady has finished the film to his own personal taste, and obviously wanted to include that shot. I'm not trying to sound rude, but if you don't like the shot, you can always remove it yourself with basic video-editing software
He has already said that he's not doing any more requests/alterations!

Not to mention, the idea won't work. (Or at least, it'll look crappy.)

There's so much going on in that shot that slowing it down will look silly, plus if it's Ben and Luke's POV, then they are literally just meters from town. Close enough for people to overhear their conversation practically.

Fuser: It was just a suggestion. Furthermore, it was given with respect to Ady and the work he's done. So calm yourself.

Uncanny Antman: I don't agree with you. The people down below wouldn't be able to overhear the conversation. And it would make a much better establishing shot than the one that's in the film -- my opinion, nothing more.

Ady: Hopefully I didn't cause you any stress or anger by simply making a suggestion. I love the work you've done, as I've said before, and can't wait to see the final product.

And to all: I've been a reader and contributor to this forum for a while now and I've always enjoyed the genuine enthusiasm. But this kind of sharp reaction (mainly from Fuser) only serves to take all the fun out of it. I love Star Wars. But Star Wars fans..? That's something else.

I think it is about time we begin to create some sort of distribution chain. I do not want to sound rushy, but I want to be prepared for when this comes out. Just think of the mass chaos that will be going on if we do not set something up.

ADY ROCKS

Ady, I have been keeping track of this thread for quite a while (actually since the beginning when I saw your screen name) and am chiming in for the first time. You have done a fantastic job and I can't wait to see the final product. We spoke a few times via PM back in the day on nzb-zone when you were fixing up peoples crappy cams and TS's . As good as you were then I could never have imagined that you had the skill to take on such a huge undertaking. I look forward to adding your edit to the dozens I have from OT, however, yours will be the one I burn a few times and back up on about 3 hard drives and will watch when I want to see Episode IV. Also, since you are familiar with newsgroups I certainly hope you will be upping your edit there. I think it would benefit everyone on OT. Those of us with newsgroup access can max out our connection and download a full dvd5 in an hour or two and then help seed torrents as long as the file structure is the same, significantly increasing the number of seeders. If the edit is only available via torrent it will take people weeks to d/l because there will be very few seeders and tons of leechers. Just a though and again thanks for all your hard work in bringing this to the fans.

I burnt a DVD and the clips came out as cropped 1:85 (16:9) rather than the around 2:35 correct widescreen format on my TV, I selected 4:3 mode when I burned it, because I have a standard 4:3 TV set. What should I do to get the entire 2:35 shown on my TV? Burn another DVD, but what format/setting? I used WINDOWS DVD MAKER.

Are you sure it's not just the results of overscan that you're seeing?

Sev,

Try burning it in 16:9 because your DVD player will be able to reproportion it correctly for your normal TV.

I have been away for a long long time trying to get my business in order, so there is a lot i haven't read up on in this thread. Before I left, I don't feel like looking for the exact post, I saw that you had set a tentative deadline of November 2007. I was just wondering, please don't take this as nagging or anything negative for that matter, when the final distributable version might be done? Thanx!
