Which is another point to bring up: other versions of other films are listed as "director's cuts," "extended versions," and such. There's none of this "replacement" crap. They are listed as different versions of the film. The thing about the public being charged to see it, however, is that Lucas DOES STILL OWN IT. It's he who is making the changes to films that HE OWNS. Legally, anyways. Do we hate that? Yes. But that's not really the issue. He's perfectly within his rights. I think that it's important to make this a campaign for the OOT rather than against the SEs.

Plus, if the OOT got a proper release, Lucas, shrewd businessman that he is, could put it in a huge boxed set with whatever other versions that he wants. If I can get the OOT in restored and remastered anamorphic widescreen with the proper sound mixes, I will pay virtually ANY price within reason.
