I know the PDI computer capture will look much better. I'm just looking for a quick way to make a rather good backup of all my tapes in a straight transfer. I usually use my computer when I want to do some editing or enhancements to an existing video (slow motion, text). And I don't have the hard drive space either, I'm sure uncompressed captures of everything would easily clear 1 tb.
But the video files are different? What are they on burned dvd's and how is that different? And is there a way to check?
