Just watched the 3hr+ doco "Dangerous Days".

The best and most thorough "making of" I've ever seen. So informative and full of previously unseen material.

Man, is everybody getting this thing before the release date? Or does it come out sooner outside of the US?

That documentary and whatever other extras are another thing I am really excited about this set for.

Yes. It's released earlier in the UK. I think the official release date was today, actually. But some stores don't give a shit and release it whenever it suits them. I guess that's how I got mine here like three days ago in that amsterdam import store!

Same with the transformers 07 dvd. It wasn't supposed to come out till the 13th of december (in holland anyways), but it's already for sale in some stores!

Well, I've been waiting now for 2 weeks to see if Rewind would update there comparison to include The Final Cut along with the Blu-ray & HD-DVD releases, but no luck yet. I guess they're waiting for the US release before updating.

I did check DVD Beaver and found out that the standard DVD is Region 1, 2, 3, 4 encoded.

I finaly decided to type "is the blu-ray release of blade runner region free" into my search engine and found this site and this site that reports the US release to be region free but couldn't find any source to back this up other than the fact that Warner's usualy release Blu-ray's as region free.

I will more than likely take the plunge and order myself the 5-disc US Blu-ray release in the coming days but if anyone can confirm if it is definatly region free for me when it's released this week, it might just save me some hastle.

here in the states, I got the 5 disc Blu-Ray box last week at Best Buy. mush better looking than the basic dvd IMHO. lots of extra's also. very cool hi-def transfer. again IMHO.


fyi, the box says in "True HD Dolby" Sound and I think it is Region Free.
