The line "your father wanted you to have this.." no longer works since Episode III, which is entirely Lucas' fault, but does need to be addressed. Changing the line from "your father.." to "I.." not only fixes the problem the PT caused but also it helps to demonstrate that Ben was keeping an eye on Luke because it is he that wants him to train as a Jedi , which is why he gave him the saber. It also demonstrates the level of animosity that Owen feels for Ben now that is he that wants Luke to have the saber, whereas the original line could have made Luke resentful of his Uncle for not letting him have something that his father wanted him to have when he grew up.
In order for the PT & OT to fit together properly this line needs to change to "I.." along with some changes Luke & Leia's conversation in ROTJ about their mother. 2 huge continuity errors that were caused only by the prequels( didn't Lucas even know his own films???) but the first is easier to fix in the OT than the PT, but other problems can be fixed in the PT when i finally get around to them.

In my edit it occurs after the message and the whole conversation about his father and the force is now joined. The line change is one thing i won't be swayed against, i'm afraid.

The "Vader betrayed and murdered your Father.." line still works perfectly and doesn't need to be changed. that was explained in ROTJ and can be further explained by the fact that Obi-Wan & Yoda both new that one day Luke would confront Vader and their thinking was that knowing the true identity of the person that he was facing in battle, and would ultimately have to kill, would have given Vader a huge advantage

Ultimately my edit is going to cover all 6 films and as i said in my first post this edit came about so you can watch all 6 films in episode order without seeing all the problems with the OT caused by the PT.

Now for a quick update on the progress of the edit....

The audio is complete up to the first Trench run (with a few minor bit here and there throughout left to do). There was hell of a lot of sound-FX work to do for the extra sequence. So far i am working with 156 seperate audio tracks to get the right mix, but this is likely to grow. I'm only going to work on it for another week and then i am having a break until after Christmas so i can concentrate on more important matters (and have my long holiday away from this edit in the 18 months+ that i have been working on it). I haven't done any more work on the video because the few shots i had left just weren't working so a break from that was needed so i can iron out a few of the problems.
