Okay new problem thou I’m sure I’m pretty, close warm now to opening this file and watching it. So I’ve clicked “ok” and I get the “ding sound” do I browse though the folder or other?

Thanks.

Thank you for joining, me here in the off topic area.

I think I understand what you’re saying I know how to rename the file so I’ll (highlight) the text that you have posted here and then (paste) that into the (rename file) and try it again.

Thanks

No luck at all this is becoming most (taxing) I’m really naff with computers, but if I can learn how to most things on the computer? Oh well I need to overcome this (obstacle) and then after I have successfully gotten more hands on time with it and learned the basics of it.

I guess I can move on to the next step which is how to compress files that have video information and sound and so on, and …that’s a whole new learning curve, I’ll start with this one first.

Thanks

LOL, Glade you’re finding this amusing and if it does spark an idea for a sitcom I would like 25% of the takings please, I’m not a greedy person 25% would do.

ok. you could have a damaged file.

heres a few steps to fix this.

1> download quickpar from here: quickpar downlaod page

install it

then download this file to your desktop: par2 file - yousendit

open this file with quickpar. it will scan the files and report any broken files.

tell me how many blocks it needs to repair. if the "repair" or "rename" button is selectable then just click it and it will repair the damaged file. then after it has finished the repair you can go back and extract the files

if it says it needs more blocks then tell me how many and i can send you the file to repair it

Gotcha I’ve just download the first file and I’m about to start with the second one and play it by ear.

Thanks for all the time you’ve given.

I haven’t a clue what this program does and my desk top is starting to look like (Piccadilly Circus) at 7am in the morning.

Thanks.

I surrender at this point I’ve saved the files to a folder and I will attempt to have another go at this next year, I appreciate the time you’ve given me, but I tried and tried for something like 4 or 5 hours the other night and it almost drove me (stir crazy).

I will be ready for the trails when I get a new home to move into unless of course you can do a shorter version of the films or break them up into parts and upload them on Megavideo then I can watch and reflect my comments.

Thanks.
