Argh. After 11 months and 11 days, my X-Box 360 has suffered the Red Ring of Death.

On the very same weekend, the TV my Wii is hooked up to lost its ability to display picture.

Sony must have cast some VooDoo magic so I'll be forced to play my PS2 for a change.

I'm playing Super Metroid on my PC. I want to buy one of those things for my DS so I can play Emulators. Chaltab how many times how many times did you beat Metroid Fusion? Must have been around 50 times for me. It's time for a Metroid 5 2d game!!

All the way through, only once or twice. I played the final fight over and over again several times, though.

Yeah, the more I play Metroid Prime (which don't get me wrong, I think is great) the more I realize that 2D is the best format for Metroid. You really loose something with the addition of the 3rd dimension. Metroid II for the GB is actually still a really cool game. I love the solitarity of that game. It feels very Alien-esque (as in the film, Alien), finding an empty shell, then stumbling across a Metroid a few screens later. Man, I love that game. The all black background on the monochrome Game Boy really gave it a great eerie feeling.

I never really watched the old GB movies, but this sounds like it could be a fun game. Basically a Hi-Def Luigi's Mansion.

What did I say so wrong?

Luigi's Mansion was obviously inspired by Ghost Busters!

I was just messing around. Having been raised with Ghostbusters myself, and with Luigi's Mansion being an obvious knock off of Ghostbusters, it was just funny to hear some one describe Ghostbusters as being like Luigi's Mansion. Kind of like someone seeing Star Wars for the first time and saying, "Oh, I see, it is kind of like Battlestar Galactica."

"I firmly believe Gary should be the rival in every Pokemon game. No, I don't care if he's 45 by the time Diamond and Pearl or whatever is out.

He should also continue to be a total dick like he was from day 1. He was 10 years old driving around a convertible and had bitches at his beck and call. This should continue.

Whenever you enter a cave and come out with all your Pokemon are at 3 hit points? Gary appears.

Get through Team Rocket HQ, out of any healing items with your best team reduced to rubble? Gary rolls up in his mercedes.

When you finally attain all the badges you need, with your favorite Pokèmon battered and beaten? Yeah, Gary.

All your Pokèmon are knocked out and you're 5 tiles away from the Pokemon Center -- Guess who just blocked the entrance way and says he challenges you to a fight?

Fuck yeah, Gary Oak."

I wish. My X-Box 360 is still dead and my PC isn't capable of running it.

I haven't checked it out yet, specifically just because I couldn't stand the previous CoD's. Have they changed the gameplay at all, or is it just run'n'gun like the others, except a modern setting with better graphics?

For any of you DS owner out there,

I have been thinking about buying a new portable system for a while now. I am still using my old Gameboy color, and I was thinking about buying a GB SP since it can play GB Advanced games as well as the old GameBoy and GameBoy Color games, and it has a backlight (I have put up with barely being able to see what I am playing for long enough). Though looking at the price difference between the GB SP and the NDS, I feel tempted to spend a bit extra and get the DS.

Only problem is my old GB and GBC games won't work on it. However, I heard you can emulate old GB and GBC on it. Has any one ever tried this? If this can be done simply enough and without costing a small fortune, then I could just get the rom files for all the GB and GBC games I own and play them this way. So I was wondering if anyone here has done this with their NDS, and if it is very costly or too much of a hassle. If it is going to cost more than fifty bucks to get it setup, I might as well just buy a DS and then get a used GB SP, rather than trying to get the DS to emulate the old games. Though the idea of having ScummVM on a DS with the ability to play Monkey Island in the palm of my hand sounds pretty cool too.

YES! But I only played the single player missions (all of them). At "hardened" this is like Black Hawk Down (the movie) but more intense. I especially like the different weapons you get to use.

...You can mod the PSP to emulate all sorts of GameBoy games, but I've never heard anything like that regarding the DS. A little Googling seems to indicate the DS can be modified to run homebrew stuff, but you'll have to buy some special equipment for that. No idea on the price.

If you want to emulate old games, the PSP would be a lot easier for that purpose. The DS has a far better line up of native games, though.

Not to mention it folds up to protect itself, and even the non "Lite" version is by no means large and clunky, something that defines the PSP. And DS can play GBA games (Metroid Fusion!) and it has Phantom Hourglass. I like the whole sylus setup too, another thing the PSP lacks, thanks to Sony being void of imagination.

Well, I googled around for a while, and found that there is a device that can be bought for the DS for as little as $39 that allows it to play home brew (which would include the GB emulator) as well as Mp3, pictures, ebooks, and Divx files. That would make it in my opinion the singularly most useful handheld device in the history of mankind. All it lacks is a means of fast worldwide transportaion, a cloaking device, laser canons, and an energy shield that makes its barer invincible. Once they have a version that can do all that, I shall perchase it then go to live the rest of my life in the mountians as a hermit. It'll be great!

I think all you need is the right wireless card on your computer, and a blank chip or whatever it is that they use for it. There is also the "multicart" way, where you can buy a GBA cart off the net that has lots of the games on them. It's bootleg, that way - but you can make your own. The good adaptors go for about $20 I think, and the cartridges I have no idea. Personally? Just get the DS and keep your GBC handy, cuz that's what I do.
